Reflections from the BRED Knowledge Fair 2025

The second Knowledge Fair 2025, organized by Bangladesh Rural Economic Development (BRED) and supported by the Global Fund for Children (GFC), was a day filled with learning, inspiration, and connection.

The main objective of this event was to share the stories of learning, experiences, and positive change from our various communities with one another, to recognize the inherent strength within the community, and to move forward together on the path of development.

We believe that change is possible through the sharing of knowledge, and this Knowledge Fair is a tangible step toward that change.

 

Learnings from the Knowledge Fair (SALT Perspective)

The Knowledge Fair 2025 taught us that the community is the real power for change. Here we saw that when everyone works together, the impossible becomes possible.

Inclusion means more than just being present; it means giving everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences. This builds trust and confidence within the community.

Through sharing stories and experiences, we understood that the path to solutions lies hidden within the community itself. When someone listens attentively, the other person finds the strength within themselves.

Appreciation and cooperation make the community more united. By working together, we learned that true development comes from the participation of all.

Finally, through reflection, we received guidance on how to further improve our work. The Knowledge Fair showed us that change begins from within the community.

After Experience Reflection (AER)

1. What went well and why?

The best aspects of the event were the inclusion and mutual respect of everyone.

• Everyone listened to one another attentively; no one was left out.
• At one point, Humaira Apu noticed that one participant had not yet spoken. She gently encouraged them, which later provided an opportunity for that person to express their inner strength.
• The story-sharing by the indigenous community captured everyone's attention—a beautiful example of community strength and unity.
• The poetry recitation by Dilruba, a special child, and the dance by the community's adolescent girls were incredibly inspiring.
• The participation of the adolescents became a symbol of their self-confidence and self-reliance.

2. What can we do better next time and how?

• Improvements can be made in time management next time.
• Short breaks or group sharing sessions could be incorporated into the discussions so that everyone can express their thoughts more comfortably.

A special thank you to the 'Alokito Kori' and 'Grow Your Reader Foundation' teams, who were present at the event and shared inspiring stories of community change.

And special gratitude to Priya Apu, Nishat Apu, Monira Apu, Afsana Apu, Sadman Bhai, Parvez Bhai, and Selim Bhai, who traveled a long distance to be with us on this learning journey.

The experience of this fair reminded us that the community's own strength is the real heart of this initiative. We are learning together, changing together this is our strength.

ব্রেড জ্ঞান মেলা ২০২৫ থেকে কিছু প্রতিফলন

বাংলাদেশ রুরাল ইকোনমিক ডেভেলপমেন্ট (BRED) কর্তৃক আয়োজিত এবং গ্লোবাল ফান্ড ফর চিলড্রেন (GFC) দ্বারা সমর্থিত দ্বিতীয় জ্ঞান মেলা ২০২৫ ছিল শিক্ষা, অনুপ্রেরণা এবং সংযোগে ভরপুর একটি দিন।

এই ইভেন্টের প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য ছিল আমাদের বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের শিক্ষা, অভিজ্ঞতা এবং ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তনের গল্পগুলি একে অপরের সাথে ভাগ করে নেওয়া, সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে থাকা অন্তর্নিহিত শক্তিকে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া এবং উন্নয়নের পথে একসাথে এগিয়ে যাওয়া।

আমরা বিশ্বাস করি যে জ্ঞান বিনিময়ের মাধ্যমে পরিবর্তন সম্ভব, এবং এই জ্ঞান মেলা সেই পরিবর্তনের দিকে একটি বাস্তব পদক্ষেপ।

 

 জ্ঞান মেলা থেকে শিক্ষা (SALT দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি)

জ্ঞান মেলা ২০২৫ আমাদের শিখিয়েছে যে সম্প্রদায়ই হলো পরিবর্তনের আসল শক্তি। এখানে আমরা দেখেছি যে যখন সবাই একসাথে কাজ করে, তখন অসম্ভবও সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে।

• অন্তর্ভুক্তি মানে কেবল উপস্থিত থাকা নয়; এর অর্থ হলো প্রত্যেককে তাদের চিন্তা ও অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগ করে নেওয়ার সুযোগ দেওয়া। এটি সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে বিশ্বাস এবং আত্মবিশ্বাস তৈরি করে।
• গল্প এবং অভিজ্ঞতা ভাগ করে নেওয়ার মাধ্যমে আমরা বুঝতে পেরেছি যে সমাধানের পথটি সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যেই লুকিয়ে রয়েছে। যখন কেউ মনোযোগ দিয়ে শোনে, তখন অন্যজন তার নিজের মধ্যেকার শক্তি খুঁজে পায়।
• প্রশংসা ও সহযোগিতা সম্প্রদায়কে আরও ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে তোলে। একসাথে কাজ করার মাধ্যমে আমরা শিখেছি যে প্রকৃত উন্নয়ন আসে সকলের অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে।
• পরিশেষে, প্রতিফলনের মাধ্যমে আমরা আমাদের কাজকে আরও উন্নত করার নির্দেশনা পেয়েছি।
• জ্ঞান মেলা দেখিয়েছে যে পরিবর্তন শুরু হয় সম্প্রদায়ের ভেতর থেকে। 

অভিজ্ঞতা পরবর্তী প্রতিফলন (After Experience Reflection - AER)

১. কী ভালো হয়েছে এবং কেন?

ইভেন্টের সেরা দিক ছিল সবার অন্তর্ভুক্তি এবং পারস্পরিক শ্রদ্ধা।

• প্রত্যেকে মনোযোগ দিয়ে একে অপরের কথা শুনেছেন; কেউ বাদ পড়েননি।
• একপর্যায়ে, হুমায়রা আপু লক্ষ্য করেন যে একজন অংশগ্রহণকারী এখনও কথা বলেননি। তিনি তাকে আলতোভাবে উৎসাহিত করেন, যা পরে সেই ব্যক্তিকে তাঁর ভেতরের শক্তি প্রকাশ করার সুযোগ করে দেয়।
• আদিবাসী সম্প্রদায়ের দ্বারা গল্প বলা সবার মনোযোগ আকর্ষণ করে—এটি সম্প্রদায়িক শক্তি ও ঐক্যের এক সুন্দর উদাহরণ।
• দিলরুবা, একজন বিশেষ শিশুর কবিতা আবৃত্তি, এবং সম্প্রদায়ের কিশোরী মেয়েদের নৃত্য ছিল অবিশ্বাস্যভাবে অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক।
• কিশোর-কিশোরীদের অংশগ্রহণ তাদের আত্মবিশ্বাস ও স্বনির্ভরতার প্রতীক হয়ে ওঠে।
• মেয়েদের আত্মবিশ্বাসী উপস্থাপন আর তাদের নেতৃত্ব সত্যিই অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক ছিল।

২. পরেরবার আমরা কী আরও ভালোভাবে করতে পারি এবং কীভাবে?

• পরেরবার সময় ব্যবস্থাপনার উন্নতি করা যেতে পারে।
• আলোচনার মধ্যে সংক্ষিপ্ত বিরতি বা দলগত আলোচনার ব্যবস্থা করা যেতে পারে, যাতে প্রত্যেকে আরও স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যে তাদের ভাবনা প্রকাশ করতে পারে।

 

 কৃতজ্ঞতা

'আলোকিত করি' এবং 'গ্রো ইওর রিডার ফাউন্ডেশন' টিমকে বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ, যারা ইভেন্টে উপস্থিত ছিলেন এবং সম্প্রদায়ের পরিবর্তনের অনুপ্রেরণামূলক গল্পগুলো ভাগ করে নিয়েছিলেন।

এবং প্রিয়া আপু, নিশাত আপু, মনিরা আপু, আফসানা আপু, সাদমান ভাই, পারভেজ ভাই, এবং সেলিম ভাই-কে বিশেষ কৃতজ্ঞতা, যারা আমাদের এই শিক্ষামূলক যাত্রায় আমাদের সাথে থাকতে দূর পথ পাড়ি দিয়েছেন।

 

এই মেলার অভিজ্ঞতা আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দিয়েছে যে সম্প্রদায়ের নিজস্ব শক্তিই এই উদ্যোগের আসল প্রাণকেন্দ্র। আমরা একসাথে শিখছি, একসাথে বদলাচ্ছি এটাই আমাদের শক্তি।
