Progress in Sierra Leone Life Competence 2009


  • In December 2009, the Sierra Leone Community Life Competence was formed
  • Pilot school competence was carried out at Apex International Secondary School as was successful
  • Introduced the Aid Competence process to the Coalition Against HIV and AIDS in Sierra Leone (National Stakeholders HIV/AIDS Competence self-assessment)

World Vision Program related:

  • Commenced the implementation on malaria competence process for nine villages in the Imperi Chiefdom, Southern Sierra Leone in their Operational area. (This is a nine months Project fund through World Vision)
  • David Kpevai and Joseph Senesie from Sierra Leone participated in facilitating the IFRC sponsored the H2P competence project in Liberia.
  • Trained 5 Competence Facilitatiors in Freetown and Bonthe district who are now actively participating in facilitation processes.

Plan International has been also very active in Sierra Leone, so perhaps Ibrahim will want to add something?
