Hi all,
I am the co-founder of
Biosense, an Indian healthcare startup looking to reduce maternal and infant mortality. I am eager to talk with folks who are working in the area of healthcare, especially rural health micro-franchising, micro-clinics, telemedicine to figure out "everyone wins" models where we can drive impact from our non-invasive anemia monitoring technology.
The problem: 1 million die annually due to anemia. Most of the deaths occur in childbirth - specifically, due to lack of screening, monitoring in rural areas. The problem is known but diagnostics and compliance are big issues.
We've spent the last 2.5 years prototyping a hand-held, needle-free (non invasive), battery operated anemia screening device ("
ToucHb") that can be used for mass-scale monitoring, using village health workers, anganwadis, MFI backed health entrepreneurs, micro-clinics and the like.
Currently piloting the tech and use case. Am eager to talk to people who we can collaborate with over the next year or so in different geographies to target anemia screening for maternal and infant health - MFIs with a health focus, telemedicine, NGOs in maternal/child health.
