Is  Diabetes and High Blood Pressure within the purview of the Malaria competence? Those two diseases are claiming numerous lives in developing countries and they sure require local responses. Who has an idea?

Hi Haddy,

I have a friend a young lady like you working with communities on issues of diabetes in India. I can connect you with her. Are you doing work in this area?

Warmly,

Rituu

Dear Haddy! Yes, sure. The community life competence process cam be applied to almost any issue of concern for communities. There is some experience with diabetes already. You can find the self assessment framework on the resource page of our website: http://www.communitylifecompetence.org/en/pages/94-resources. Would you want to apply it? Go for it! Greetings, Marlou

According to the latest data published by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in the fourth edition of the IDF Diabetes Atlas, four out of every five people with diabetes now live in developing countries, affecting the most economically productive segment of their population. You can read the rest of this informative health report using the link below if interested.

This is somewhat grave and requires urgent interventions.

Let's hear what the learning community thinks!

Peace,
Haddy.
