We have finally arrived in Trinidad. After all the planning by the Constellation and UNAIDS Trinidad, we are here ready to transfer the AIDS competence process to of Trinidadian friends. Sometimes we fail to acknowledge and appreciate those that work behind the scenes; those that put together the bits and pieces. So I just want to say thank you to all those that worked so hard behind the scenes in putting this Trinidad experience together.

After a really good breakfast this morning we sat around the table to finalise plans for the next four days, it must be stressed here again that planning is very important, however remember too that things will not always go as planned. You must be prepared to go in a direction unplanned for.

Autry Haynes and Rafique.

Autry and Me

We must also remember in planning as a team that individuals have different strengths and that we can support each other as needed. The best functioning team is one the works as one.

Now that the 4-day learning was completed, I'd like to congratulate you, Autry and Rafigue for a job well done.  Rafique's blogs are good evidences of how well the facilitation team had planned and had conducted the event as a team.  Kudos to you guys!

It was heart warming to learn that we have Autry with us who is the first Coach for the Competence Process on this side of the world, namely for the North and South Americas, and all the islands and countries in between! :-)

Moreover, the uniqueness of him, is he is I think the first Coach from the Government side. Hope I am not wrong.

Thanks Michael, "Unforeseen circumstances befall us ALL" yes the best of plans may not go without unforeseen occurences, but "We are ready" for that as well. This journey started a long time ago with a "High Power" team visiting Guyana and realized the strengths of the process and value to Trinidad and Tobago. That team did not hesitate to ACT, so we are grateful to them as well. Since then they have identified several strengths so we will support them to continue the process of revealing those strengths and together we shall stimulate a "Local Response" am sure will benefit themselves as well as US in this global effort. There will be new members to "Our Family!" (^_^)

Wow. Good to see the documentation rearing to go. I am sure anyone else starting a learning event will have half their work already more than half done.

And it is a real treat to work with two lovely persons, Autry and Michael. Bonus is I am learning a lot about this part of the world especially Guyana, and loving every moment of it.
