‎A life transformed by SALT: The story of Minati Bin. SALT-এর আলোয় বদলে যাওয়া একটি জীবন: মিনতি বিনের গল্প।

‎Every morning when I pick up my bag, I don’t just set out for an office job—I set out to find life stories, to find human strength, to dream and show. I work as a proud facilitator at Arshirbad Organization, and the SALT process is one of the pioneers of our journey. SALT is not just a method, it is a profound experience of respect, listening, recognition and dreaming. I have met many people on this journey. I have heard the life stories of many struggling women. But recently, one story has deeply moved me. She is Minoti Bin—an ordinary woman whose extraordinary courage and determination have shone anew in the light of SALT. Minati’s family is very ordinary. Her husband is a small businessman. The income is not very high, but there has never been a lack of dreams in this family of three sons. Minoti wants all three of her sons to be well educated and to become human beings. But the question was—what can she do on her own? When I first went to SALT Conversation with her, she said in a slightly hesitant voice,
‎“I want to do something, but I don’t know how to start.” That moment was the beginning of a possibility. During the SALT Conversation, we sat and talked—about her dreams, strengths, and potential. In the course of the conversation, she said, “Many women in our community go across the river and do business. If I work a little harder, maybe I can change the future of my sons.” A new light shone in her eyes. I said,
‎“Yes, Didi, you can definitely do it. You try, we are by your side.” Minati decided to start a vegetable business. She bought vegetables at wholesale prices from the local market and started selling them across the river. Every morning, after finishing all the household chores, she would leave for the market by 7 am. Her eldest son would cross the river with a basket of vegetables on his head and deliver them to her. At first, it was difficult for her to understand the profits and losses of the business. But gradually she started to understand the calculation of her expenses and profits. Within a few days, a smile appeared on Minoti's face—she realized that her initiative was really making a profit. Today Minoti is not just a businesswoman, she is a self-reliant woman. She bears half of the family expenses herself. She plays a role in everything - her sons' school fees, food, clothes. Most importantly, her self-confidence is much higher now. She knows that she can do it. Now Minoti is not just a mother, but an inspiration. Her husband also sees her in a different light now - with respect. Their relationship has become closer, because now they are each other's fellow travelers in life's responsibilities. Minoti's journey reminded me once again - if we listen to someone with respect and love, if we find their inner strength, then they can change their own life. We do not bring 'solutions' for someone, but rather bring their inner potential to light. We are not just listeners, we are companions - on a journey of change. We can all be someone's strength—if we just listen, love, and be there for them. One woman is one possibility. There are many more women like Minoti who may not know how strong they are. The SALT process helps us shine the light from which they can find their own path. I hope Minoti's story will inspire many more women. Maybe one of them will think today—"I can do it too. I can make a difference."  ‎প্রতিদিন সকালে আমি যখন আমার ব্যাগটা কাঁধে নিই, তখন শুধু কোনো অফিসের কাজের উদ্দেশ্যে বের হই না—আমি বের হই জীবনের গল্প খুঁজতে, মানুষের শক্তি খুঁজতে, স্বপ্ন দেখতে এবং দেখাতে। আমি আশীর্বাদ অর্গানাইজেশনের একজন গর্বিত ফ্যাসিলেটর হিসেবে কাজ করি, আর SALT প্রসেস আমাদের সেই যাত্রার অন্যতম পথিকৃত। SALT মানে শুধু একটি পদ্ধতি নয়, এটি হলো শ্রদ্ধা, শোনা, স্বীকৃতি আর স্বপ্ন দেখার এক গভীর অভিজ্ঞতা। এই যাত্রায় বহু মানুষের সঙ্গে আমার পরিচয় হয়েছে। অনেক সংগ্রামী নারীর জীবনগাথা আমি শুনেছি। কিন্তু সম্প্রতি একটি গল্প আমাকে গভীরভাবে নাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। তিনি হলেন মিনতি বিন—একজন সাধারণ নারী, যার অসাধারণ সাহস ও সংকল্প SALT-এর আলোয় নতুন করে উজ্জ্বল হয়ে উঠেছে। মিনতির পরিবার খুব সাধারণ। স্বামী একজন ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ী। আয় খুব বেশি নয়, কিন্তু তাদের তিন ছেলেকে নিয়ে গড়া এই সংসারে স্বপ্নের অভাব কোনোদিন ছিল না। মিনতির ইচ্ছে তার তিন ছেলেই ভালোভাবে লেখাপড়া করুক, মানুষ হোক। কিন্তু প্রশ্ন ছিল—তিনি নিজে কী করতে পারেন? আমি যখন প্রথম তার সঙ্গে SALT কনভারসেশনে যাই, তখন সে একটু দ্বিধায় ভরা কণ্ঠে বলেছিল,
‎“আমি কিছু করতে চাই, কিন্তু বুঝি না কীভাবে শুরু করব।” সেই মুহূর্তটা ছিল একটি সম্ভাবনার সূচনা। SALT কনভারসেশনের সময় আমরা বসে কথা বলছিলাম—তার স্বপ্ন, শক্তি, এবং সম্ভাবনার কথা। কথা প্রসঙ্গে সে বলল, “আমাদের কমিউনিটির অনেক মহিলারা নদীর ওপারে গিয়ে ব্যবসা করে। আমি যদি একটু কষ্ট করি, তাহলে হয়তো আমার ছেলেদের ভবিষ্যৎ বদলাতে পারি।” তার চোখে তখন এক নতুন আলো জ্বলছিল। আমি বললাম,
‎“হ্যাঁ দিদি, আপনি অবশ্যই পারবেন। আপনি চেষ্টা করুন, আমরা পাশে আছি।” মিনতি ঠিক করল সবজির ব্যবসা করবে। সে স্থানীয় বাজার থেকে পাইকারি দামে সবজি কিনে তা নদীর ওপারে বিক্রি করতে শুরু করল। প্রতিদিন ভোরবেলা ঘরের সমস্ত কাজ শেষ করে সে ৭টার মধ্যেই বাজারে রওনা দিত। তার বড় ছেলে প্রতিদিন সবজির খাঁচা মাথায় করে নদী পার করে তাকে পৌঁছে দিত। প্রথম প্রথম ব্যবসার লাভ-ক্ষতি বোঝা তার পক্ষে কঠিন ছিল। কিন্তু ধীরে ধীরে সে নিজের খরচ ও লাভের হিসাব বুঝতে শুরু করল। কিছুদিনের মধ্যেই মিনতির মুখে হাসি ফুটল—সে বুঝতে পারল, তার এই উদ্যোগে সত্যিই লাভ হচ্ছে। আজ মিনতি শুধু একজন ব্যবসায়ী নন, তিনি একজন স্বাবলম্বী নারী। সংসারের অর্ধেক খরচ তিনি নিজেই বহন করেন। তার ছেলেদের স্কুলের খরচ, খাবার, জামাকাপড়—সবকিছুতেই তিনি ভূমিকা রাখছেন। সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, তার নিজের আত্মবিশ্বাস এখন অনেক বেশি। তিনি জানেন, তিনি পারছেন। এখন মিনতি শুধু একজন মা নয়, একজন অনুপ্রেরণা। তার স্বামীও এখন তাকে অন্য চোখে দেখেন—সম্মানের চোখে। তাদের সম্পর্ক আরও ঘনিষ্ঠ হয়েছে, কারণ এখন তারা জীবনের দায়িত্বে একে অপরের সহযাত্রী। মিনতির এই যাত্রা আমাকে আরও একবার মনে করিয়ে দিয়েছে—যদি আমরা কাউকে শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসা দিয়ে শুনি, যদি তার ভেতরের শক্তিটা খুঁজে বের করি, তাহলে সে নিজেই নিজের জীবনের পরিবর্তন ঘটাতে পারে। আমরা কারো জন্য ‘সমাধান’ নিয়ে যাই না, বরং তার ভেতরের সম্ভাবনাকে আলোতে নিয়ে আসি। আমরা শুধু শ্রোতা হই না, আমরা সঙ্গী হই—একটি পরিবর্তনের যাত্রায়। আমরা সবাই কারও না কারও শক্তি হয়ে উঠতে পারি—শুধু একটু ভালো করে শুনলে, ভালোবাসলে, পাশে থাকলে। এক নারী মানেই এক সম্ভাবনার নাম। মিনতির মতো আরও অনেক নারী আছেন যারা হয়তো জানেন না তারা কতটা শক্তিশালী। SALT প্রসেস আমাদের সেই আলো জ্বালাতে সাহায্য করে, যেখান থেকে তারা নিজেদের পথ খুঁজে নিতে পারেন। আমি আশা করি, মিনতির গল্প আরও অনেক নারীর মনে সাহস জোগাবে। হয়তো তাদের মধ্যেও একজন আজই ভাববেন—"আমিও পারি। আমিও বদল আনতে পারি।"
