On March 14 and 15, inspired by the entire village community, the residents of Gobinda Pala organized a two-day football tournament. The primary objective behind organizing this tournament was to foster harmonious relationships between their own village and the neighboring ones. Prior to this, we had organized a 'Gyan Mela' (Knowledge Fair), which saw the participation of residents from Keodaha, Gobinda Pala, and several other neighboring villages.

The Gyan Mela essentially serves as a platform for the mutual exchange of experiences, providing participants with the opportunity to learn from one another. For instance, during that specific Gyan Mela, residents of Keodaha shared their personal experiences and presented their perspectives regarding the development of their own village to the entire audience. Through this exchange of experiences, participants from Gobinda Pala and other villages came to realize the importance of cultivating a similar mindset—understanding that engaging in constructive thinking regarding the development of their own communities was equally imperative for them. Consequently, they grasped the vital significance of fostering the practice—or creating opportunities—for 'SALT' (Sharing and Learning Together) among all members of the community.

Through the 'SALT' process, experiences that lie dormant within people's hearts are brought to light and shared with everyone. However, on the very day of the Gyan Mela, an unfortunate incident occurred: while driving at high speed, a driver collided with one of our vehicles, resulting in severe injuries to the lower bodies of two teenage girls. We were deeply shaken by this incident and began to harbor doubts as to whether we would be able to successfully conclude the event at all. This matter was of particular concern to us because we had organized a theatrical performance for the Gyan Mela, in which these very two girls were scheduled to play the lead roles. They were immediately rushed to a government hospital and administered painkillers; once their pain had subsided somewhat, they expressed an intense desire to participate in the event—and ultimately, they did indeed take part in the Gyan Mela proceedings. We were able to bring the event to a highly successful conclusion. Immediately following the conclusion of the Gyan Mela (Knowledge Fair), the entire community of Govinda Pala village came together to organize a football tournament. The Gyan Mela serves as a pivotal platform where people can learn a great deal from one another—a space that fosters the inspiration and enthusiasm necessary to undertake noble initiatives. During the fair, when the 'Majhi-Haram' group from Keudoha village recounted how several of their village elders—aiming to enhance their village's identity and prestige—had utilized their own pension or old-age allowance funds to organize a football tournament, it inspired the residents of Govinda Pala to undertake a similar initiative. Furthermore, many outsiders—individuals with whom the residents of Govinda Pala had no prior acquaintance—found an opportunity to establish connections and build rapport by participating in this football tournament. Just as the people of Govinda Pala were inspired to organize a tournament after observing the 'Majhi-Harams' of Keudoha village, residents of other villages may likewise be inspired by this exemplary initiative of Govinda Pala. On the Govinda Pala football grounds, villagers set up various food stalls, thereby creating opportunities for everyone to earn some additional income—funds which they were subsequently able to utilize to cover their household expenses for a considerable period. This football tournament was not organized merely through the efforts of a select few individuals; rather, it was successfully realized through the collective efforts of the entire village community. They organized this event by collecting a contribution of 200 rupees from every household in the village. The entire populace of the village participated in this initiative; various responsibilities were distributed among everyone, and each individual discharged their duties with immense enthusiasm. It was solely through the collective cooperation of all that this football tournament could be concluded so beautifully and successfully

১৪ ও ১৫ই মার্চ, সমগ্র গ্রামবাসীর অনুপ্রেরণায় গোবিন্দ পালার বাসিন্দারা একটি দুই দিনব্যাপী ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের আয়োজন করেন। এই টুর্নামেন্ট আয়োজনের মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল নিজেদের গ্রাম এবং পার্শ্ববর্তী গ্রামগুলোর মধ্যে সৌহার্দ্যপূর্ণ সম্পর্ক গড়ে তোলা। এর আগে আমরা একটি 'জ্ঞান মেলা'-র আয়োজন করেছিলাম, যেখানে কেওদাহা, গোবিন্দ পালা এবং আরও বেশ কয়েকটি পার্শ্ববর্তী গ্রামের বাসিন্দারা অংশগ্রহণ করেছিলেন।

জ্ঞান মেলা মূলত অভিজ্ঞতার পারস্পরিক বিনিময়ের একটি মঞ্চ হিসেবে কাজ করে, যা অংশগ্রহণকারীদের একে অপরের কাছ থেকে শেখার সুযোগ করে দেয়। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, সেই নির্দিষ্ট জ্ঞান মেলা চলাকালীন কেওদাহার বাসিন্দারা নিজেদের ব্যক্তিগত অভিজ্ঞতা এবং নিজেদের গ্রামের উন্নয়ন সম্পর্কিত দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি সমগ্র শ্রোতৃমণ্ডলীর সামনে তুলে ধরেছিলেন। অভিজ্ঞতার এই বিনিময়ের মাধ্যমে গোবিন্দ পালা এবং অন্যান্য গ্রামের অংশগ্রহণকারীরাও অনুরূপ একটি মানসিকতা গড়ে তোলার গুরুত্ব অনুধাবন করতে পেরেছিলেন—তারা বুঝতে পেরেছিলেন যে, নিজেদের সম্প্রদায়ের উন্নয়ন নিয়ে গঠনমূলক চিন্তাভাবনা করা তাদের জন্যও সমানভাবে অপরিহার্য। ফলস্বরূপ, তারা সম্প্রদায়ের সকল সদস্যের মধ্যে 'SALT' (Sharing and Learning Together—একসাথে ভাগ করে নেওয়া ও শেখা)-এর চর্চা গড়ে তোলার—কিংবা তার সুযোগ তৈরি করার—অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তাৎপর্যটি উপলব্ধি করতে পেরেছিলেন।

'SALT' প্রক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমে মানুষের হৃদয়ের গভীরে সুপ্ত থাকা অভিজ্ঞতাগুলো প্রকাশ্যে আসে এবং সবার সাথে ভাগ করে নেওয়া হয়। তবে, জ্ঞান মেলার দিনেই একটি দুর্ভাগ্যজনক ঘটনা ঘটেছিল: দ্রুত গতিতে গাড়ি চালানোর সময় এক চালক আমাদের একটি গাড়িকে সজোরে ধাক্কা দেন, যার ফলে দুজন কিশোরী গুরুতরভাবে আহত হয় এবং তাদের শরীরের নিচের অংশে আঘাত লাগে। এই ঘটনায় আমরা গভীরভাবে বিচলিত হয়ে পড়েছিলাম এবং আমাদের মনে সংশয় জাগতে শুরু করেছিল যে, আমরা আদৌ এই অনুষ্ঠানটি সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করতে পারব কি না। বিষয়টি আমাদের জন্য বিশেষ উদ্বেগের কারণ ছিল, কারণ আমরা জ্ঞান মেলার জন্য একটি নাটকের আয়োজন করেছিলাম, যেখানে এই দুজন কিশোরীরই প্রধান চরিত্রে অভিনয় করার কথা ছিল। তাদের অবিলম্বে একটি সরকারি হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় এবং ব্যথানাশক ওষুধ দেওয়া হয়; ব্যথা কিছুটা কমে আসার পর তারা অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণের তীব্র ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করে—এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত, তারা সত্যিই জ্ঞান মেলার কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল। আমরা অনুষ্ঠানটিকে অত্যন্ত সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করতে সক্ষম হয়েছিলাম। জ্ঞান মেলা শেষ হওয়ার পরপরই, গোবিন্দ পালা গ্রামের সমগ্র সম্প্রদায় একত্রিত হয়ে একটি ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের আয়োজন করেছিল। জ্ঞান মেলা একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মঞ্চ হিসেবে কাজ করে, যেখানে মানুষ একে অপরের কাছ থেকে অনেক কিছু শিখতে পারে—এটি এমন একটি পরিসর যা মহৎ উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় অনুপ্রেরণা ও উদ্দীপনা জাগিয়ে তোলে। মেলার চলাকালীন, যখন কেউডোহা গ্রামের 'মাঝি-হারাম' দলটি বর্ণনা করল যে কীভাবে তাদের গ্রামের কয়েকজন প্রবীণ—গ্রামের পরিচিতি ও মর্যাদা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে—নিজেদের পেনশন বা বার্ধক্য ভাতার অর্থ ব্যবহার করে একটি ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টের আয়োজন করেছিলেন, তখন তা গোবিন্দ পালার বাসিন্দাদেরও অনুরূপ একটি উদ্যোগ গ্রহণে অনুপ্রাণিত করে। অধিকন্তু, অনেক বহিরাগত—যাদের সাথে গোবিন্দ পালার বাসিন্দাদের আগে কোনো পরিচয় ছিল না—এই ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টে অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে পারস্পরিক সংযোগ স্থাপন ও সুসম্পর্ক গড়ে তোলার সুযোগ পান। ঠিক যেভাবে কেউডোহা গ্রামের 'মাঝি-হারাম'দের দেখে গোবিন্দ পালার মানুষ একটি টুর্নামেন্ট আয়োজনে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়েছিল, একইভাবে অন্যান্য গ্রামের বাসিন্দারাও গোবিন্দ পালার এই অনুকরণীয় উদ্যোগ দ্বারা অনুপ্রাণিত হতে পারে। গোবিন্দ পালার ফুটবল মাঠে গ্রামবাসীরা বিভিন্ন খাবারের স্টল স্থাপন করে, যার ফলে সকলের জন্য কিছু অতিরিক্ত আয়ের সুযোগ তৈরি হয়—এই অর্থ তারা পরবর্তীতে দীর্ঘ সময়ের জন্য তাদের সংসারের খরচ মেটাতে ব্যবহার করতে সক্ষম হয়েছিল। এই ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টটি কেবল গুটিকয়েক নির্বাচিত ব্যক্তির প্রচেষ্টাতেই আয়োজিত হয়নি; বরং সমগ্র গ্রামবাসীর সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টার মাধ্যমেই এটি সফলভাবে বাস্তবায়িত হয়েছিল। গ্রামের প্রতিটি পরিবার থেকে ২০০ টাকা করে চাঁদা সংগ্রহ করে তারা এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছিল। গ্রামের সমগ্র জনগোষ্ঠী এই উদ্যোগে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিল; বিভিন্ন দায়িত্ব সকলের মধ্যে বণ্টন করে দেওয়া হয়েছিল এবং প্রতিটি ব্যক্তি অত্যন্ত উৎসাহের সাথে তাদের নিজ নিজ দায়িত্ব পালন করেছিল। একমাত্র সকলের সম্মিলিত সহযোগিতার ফলেই এই ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্টটি এত সুন্দর ও সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করা সম্ভব হয়েছিল।
