A Day of Dreams and Aspirations Through Our Unforgettable Knowledge Fair in Jashore

Our "School er Baire Shekha" after school program of Grow Your Reader Foundation in Jashore recently held a special Knowledge Fair. It was a day full of fun, learning and enjoyable moments that also reminded everyone that quality education is not just the responsibility of teachers—it’s a shared commitment. It’s about community ownership, where parents play an active and accountable role in guiding and nurturing their children’s growth. True change begins at home and within the heart of the community.

A Day Full of Learning

The "Knowledge Fair" is an annual big event at our school. It is a time when all the students, teachers and parents come together to celebrate learning. This year, we wanted to show the society how important it is for parents to know about their children’s dream and also how beneficial it is for the students after knowing what their parents think, expect and dream about them.

The Heartfelt Stimulating Drama

Some of our students performed a short drama that showed a clear story. The play showed the bad impacts of missing classes and the benefits of coming to school every day.

Parents were touched by the performance. They saw in live that how a school helps building a better future, a better nation, a better country and better human as well. Since the students used simple props and acted with great emotion, the drama became lively and full of energy.

The SALT conversation and Sharing Dreams

After the drama, we had a group SALT conversation session where everyone—students, parents, and teachers—gathered to share their stories and appreciate one another. Following the SALT conversation, parents and students separated into different groups to build and share their dreams.

Students’ Dreams:  Each student spoke about what they wanted to be in the future like a doctor, a pilot, a police, a teacher, a nurse, a scholar, a leader etc.

Parents’ Hopes:  Parents also shared their hopes for their children like doing well in school, achieving good marks in the exams, serving the nation truly being a good human and growing up strong.

Listening to each other made everyone feel closer, prideful, and confident and more excited stimulating their interest about learning more and support each other. This discussion made our bond stronger and reminded us that we are all part of one big family as we shared our hidden dreams to all. And parents realized that they have to play an important role in helping to achieve their children's dreams.

Special Moments

Some moments made the day even more special. One young student shared her simple dream to help her brother. When her parent heard this, they also shared a heartfelt wish for their child. This moment showed the deep love between parents and children. The fair also helped everyone feel excited about schools and learnings. It reminded us that each school day is a chance to grow and reach our dreams. Our Knowledge Fair was a great day that brought hope and joy to everyone. Now all the present students know that each day at school is a step toward their dreams. And parents know their responsibilities. The fair also sparked new conversations at home about the value of education.

Shortly, our "Knowledge Fair" in Jashore was not just an event. It was a day filled with dreams, fun and strong messages like going to school regularly is the key to a bright future, and sharing dream with parents gives extra energy and confidence and always dream big. Parents also understood their role in supporting their children.
