কমিউনিটির সাথে আমাদের পুরুষ দিবস উদযাপন: সমতার এক সুন্দর মুহূর্ত

বিশ্ব পুরুষ দিবসে আমরা কমিউনিটির সঙ্গে খুব আন্তরিকভাবে উদযাপন করেছি হ্যাপি মেনস ডে। পুরো আয়োজনটাই ছিল একদম তাদের নিজের মতো—তাদের অনুভূতি, তাদের ভাবনা আর তাদের অংশগ্রহণে ভরপুর।

দিনের শুরুতে আমরা আলাদা করে দু’টি গ্রুপ সল্ট করি—মহিলাদের সঙ্গে আমি ও রুমা আপু আর পুরুষদের সঙ্গে রাকিব ভাই ও প্রান্তদা। দুই গ্রুপেই সবাই খুব খোলামেলা ভাবে কথা বলেছে পুরুষ দিবস কী, কেন এটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, এবং সমাজে নারী–পুরুষকে ঘিরে যে বৈষম্যগুলো থেকে যায় সেগুলো নিয়ে।

সবচেয়ে ভালো লেগেছে—কেউ কাউকে দোষ দেয়নি, বরং সবাই বুঝতে পেরেছে যে সমতা মানে একসাথে চলা, একে অপরকে মূল্য দেওয়া। কথোপকথনে বারবার উঠে এসেছে— “নারী আর পুরুষ আলাদা কেউ নয়; দায়িত্বে, সম্মানে, মূল্যবোধে দু’জনই সমান।”

সল্টের পরে আসে উদযাপনের সবচেয়ে হাসিখুশি অংশ—কেক কাটা। সবাই মিলে আনন্দ করে কেক কাটলো আর পাশেই থাকা দিদি লিপিকা দাসগুপ্তা ভার্চুয়ালি সংযুক্ত হয়ে সবকিছু দেখলেন এবং উৎসাহ দিলেন।

এরপর মহিলারা নিজের হাতে ছোট ছোট থ্যাংক ইউ কার্ড লিখে স্বামীদের দিল। কেউ নিজের অনুভূতি লিখেছে, কেউ কৃতজ্ঞতা, কেউ শুধু একটা মিষ্টি শুভেচ্ছা। কার্ড দেবার সেই মুহূর্তগুলো—হাসি, লাজুক চোখ, ছোট ছোট কথা—পুরো পরিবেশটা আরও উষ্ণ করে তুলেছিল।

সবশেষে সবাই মিলে বললো— “আমাদের পরিবার, সমাজ বা কমিউনিটিতে নারী–পুরুষের কোনো ভেদাভেদ নেই। আমরা একে অপরকে নিয়ে, একে অপরের জন্য।”

এই ধরনের দিনগুলো আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয়—পরিবর্তন বাইরে থেকে আসে না; আসে মানুষের ভেতর থেকে। আর সেদিন কমিউনিটির মানুষদের চোখে সেই পরিবর্তনের আলো স্পষ্ট দেখা গেছে।

Celebrating Men’s Day with the Community: A Beautiful Moment of Equality

On World Men’s Day, we celebrated Happy Men’s Day with our community in a heartfelt and meaningful way. The entire event reflected their own style—their feelings, their thoughts, and their enthusiastic participation.

We began the day with two separate SALT group sessions—one with the women facilitated by Ruma Apu and me, and another with the men facilitated by Rakib bhai and Pranta da. Both groups openly discussed what Men’s Day means, why it is important, and the gender-based discriminations that still exist in society.

What touched us most was that no one blamed anyone; instead, they realized that equality means walking together and valuing each other. A powerful message echoed through the discussions:
“Men and women are not separate; in responsibility, respect, and values, both are equal.”

After the SALT sessions came the happiest part of the celebration—cutting the cake. Everyone joined in with smiles and joy, while our Didi, Lipika Dasgupta, stayed virtually connected throughout and encouraged everyone.

Then the women wrote small thank-you cards by hand and gifted them to their husbands. Some expressed gratitude, some shared their feelings, and some simply wrote sweet wishes. Those moments—smiles, shy glances, small gestures—made the atmosphere even warmer.

In the end, everyone agreed:
“In our families, society, and community, there is no division between men and women. We stand with each other and for each other.”

Days like this remind us that real change doesn’t come from outside—it begins within people. And that day, we clearly saw that spark of change in the eyes of our community members.
