গত ১৪ নভেম্বর ২০২৫, Arshirbad Organization-এর একটি টিম নিয়ে আমরা সিলেটের ECDO Organization এ কমিউনিটি ভিজিটে অংশ নিই। আমাদের সঙ্গে ছিলো চরবিন পাড়া এবং হরিজন পল্লীর কয়েকজন কমিউনিটি লিডার। যাদের উপস্থিতি এই ভিজিটকে আরও বাস্তব, আরও অর্থপূর্ণ করে তুলেছিলো। সারা দিনের অভিজ্ঞতা মিলিয়ে মনে হলো, এটা কেবল একটি ভিজিট ছিলো না; বরং ছিলো একটি শেখা, সচেতনতা আর ভবিষ্যৎ তৈরি করার জায়গা। এটা থেকে বুঝলাম, কমিউনিটি উন্নয়ন শুধু প্রজেক্ট নয়, এটা সম্পর্ক আর বিশ্বাসের উপর দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে। ECDO যেভাবে তাদের কমিউনিটির সঙ্গে কাজ করছে, সেটা দেখে আমি বুঝলাম, আমরা যত পরিকল্পনা করি, শেষ পর্যন্ত কাজটা এগোয় মানুষের সাথে সম্পর্ক এবং কমিউনিটির মানুষের ইচ্ছে শক্তির মাধ্যমে। সেই কমিউনিটির লিডাররা যেভাবে কমিউনিটির নারী এবং যুবকদের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়ার জন্য উৎসাহিত করে এবং সুজগ করে দেয়, সেটা আমাদের কমিউনিটির জন্য একটি বড় শেখা। সেখানে গিয়ে আমার মনে হলো, আমাদের কমিউনিটিতেও অনেক সম্ভাবনাময় মানুষ আছে, শুধু তাদের দরকার সেই সুযোগ আর প্ল্যাটফর্ম। প্রতিটি কমিউনিটির অভিজ্ঞতা আলাদা, আর এগুলো শেখার জন্য বিশাল একটা রিসোর্স। যখন অন্য কমিউনিটির কাজ দেখি, তখন নিজের কমিউনিটির ব্লাইন্ড স্পটগুলো স্পষ্ট হয়।
ECDO-এর কাজ দেখে আমার মনে হলো, আমরাও আরও ধারাবাহিকতা আনতে পারি, আর কমিউনিটি অ্যাকশন গুলোকে বেশি দৃশ্যমান করতে পারি। সেখানে যা সবচেয়ে বেশি চোখে পরেছে তা হলো, তাদের কমিউনিটির লোকেদের মনোভাব ও পেশাদারিত্ব। তারা আমাদের প্রতি যে সম্মান দেখিয়েছে, তা আমাদের পুরো টিমকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে। সেখানে পড়াশোনা, women leadership, youth engagement, সব কিছুতেই একটা স্পষ্ট পথচিত্র ছিলো। এটা একটা বিষয় বুঝিয়ে দেয়, যেখানে ভিশন পরিষ্কার, সেখানে অগ্রগতি দ্রুত।
আমাদের কমিউনিটির লিডাররা যখন তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলল তখন বুঝলাম, ভালো পরিবেশে, ভালো উদাহরণের সামনে মানুষ নিজেকে অন্যভাবে দেখে। এটা ছিলো মূল্যবান মুহূর্ত। এই ভিজিট আমাদের কমিউনিটির জন্য সরাসরি কিছু প্রভাব ফেলতে পারে। তাদের দেখে আমাদের কমিউনিটি লিডাররা বুঝেছে, “আমরাও পারি” এই অনুভূতি নেতৃত্বকে গতি দেয়। চরবিন পাড়া ও হরিজন পল্লীর যেসব লিডার আমাদের সঙ্গে ছিলো, তাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে ইতোমধ্যেই পরিবর্তন দেখা গেছে। ভিজিট থেকে ফিরে সবাই বলেছে “ওরা যদি পারে, আমরা কেন পারবো না?” এই ধরনের তুলনা কখনো কখনো কমিউনিটিকে আরও প্রস্তুত করে। এর পরদিন কমিউনিটির লিডাররা তাদের সাথে আরও কিছু কমিউনিটি লিডারদের যুক্ত করে Arshirbad এর অফিসে আসে। এবং তারা তাদের তৈরি করা কমিউনিটির কমন ড্রিম নিয়ে আলোচনা করে। এবং তারা বলে আমরা অতি তারাতাড়ি কমিউনিটির লোকেদের নিয়ে কাজ শুরু করবো। আমরা Arshirbad Organization এবং আমাদের কমিউনিটির পক্ষ থেকে ECDO-কে ধন্যবাদ জানাই, তাদের উষ্ণ অভ্যর্থনার জন্য, তাদের জ্ঞান ও অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করার জন্য, এবং আমাদের লিডারদের সম্মান করার জন্য। তাদের কাজ আমাদের অনুপ্রাণিত করেছে, শেখার সুযোগ দিয়েছে এবং সামনে এগোনোর নতুন পথ দেখিয়েছে। এই ভিজিট আমাদের আরেক ধাপ এগিয়ে নিয়েছে, এজন্য আমরা সত্যিই কৃতজ্ঞ। সিলেট কমিউনিটি ভিজিট ছিলো শুধু একটি প্রোগ্রাম নয়, বরং শেখা, অনুপ্রেরণা, তুলনা এবং ভবিষ্যতের পরিকল্পনার এক বাস্তব উদাহরণ। এই ভিজিটের অভিজ্ঞতা আমাদের কমিউনিটির শক্তি, দুর্বলতা, সুযোগ এবং ভবিষ্যতের দিকনির্দেশনা আরও পরিষ্কার করে দিয়েছে।
On 14 November 2025, a team from Arshirbad Organization visited the ECDO Organization in Sylhet for a community exchange. Several community leaders from Chorbin Para and Harijan Palli joined us, and their presence made the visit more grounded and meaningful. Looking back at the day, it felt like more than just a field visit, it was a space for learning, awareness, and envisioning the future. It became clear that community development is not driven only by projects; it stands on relationships and trust. Seeing how ECDO works with its community helped me understand that no matter how many plans we make, real progress ultimately moves through relationships and the willpower of the people themselves. The way their community leaders encourage women and young people to take decisions and create opportunities was one of our biggest learnings. It reminded me that our own communities also have many capable individuals; they just need the right space and platform. Every community carries its own experience, and these experiences are a massive resource for learning. When we observe other communities’ work, our own blind spots become visible. From ECDO’s approach, I felt that we too can bring more consistency into our work and make our community actions more visible. What stood out most was the attitude and professionalism of their community members. The respect they showed our team was truly inspiring. Their clarity around education, women’s leadership, and youth engagement showed us that when the vision is clear, progress naturally becomes faster. When our community leaders interacted with theirs, it became evident that being in a positive environment and seeing strong role models helps people see themselves differently. These moments were deeply valuable for all of us. This visit can have a direct impact on our own community. Our leaders expressed that seeing ECDO’s journey gave them a strong sense of “we can do it too,” and this belief is the fuel of leadership. The leaders from Chorbin Para and Harijan Palli who accompanied us have already started showing shifts in their perspectives. After returning from the visit, they said, “If they can do it, why can’t we?” This kind of comparison can sometimes prepare a community for real action. The next day, they came to the Arshirbad office with additional leaders and discussed the common dream of their community. They shared that they will start working with community members very soon. On behalf of Arshirbad Organization and our communities, we express our gratitude to ECDO for their warm welcome, for sharing their knowledge and experience, and for honoring our leaders. Their work inspired us, taught us, and opened new pathways for future action. The Sylhet community visit was not just a program, it was an experience of learning, inspiration, reflection, and strategic thinking. It helped us understand our community’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and the direction we need to take next. For this step forward, we are truly grateful.
