About Me:
I have been part of a national study on the behavior of men-having-sex-with-other-men (MSM) in relation to discrimination and vulnerability to HIV/AIDS. With the partnership of the United Nations Development Programme and Health Action Information Network (a non-government organization in the Philippines), with extensive research work, we have been presenting the first phase of the project for national consultation. This study aims to provide basis for the creation of national policies in the Philippines in relation to health and sexuality rights and serve as an impetus for the government to create programs to achieve a remarkable decline of HIV/AIDS cases in the country.

I have also been part of some studies about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Philippines that consequently led me to partnerships and worked with non-government organizations protecting the rights and providing care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) in the Philippines. With this, our group has documented cases of discrimination, and the organizations I work with are hopeful that these would lead to the creation and the passage of the anti-discrimination law in the Philippines. Also, we have been providing free HIV testing where the most-at-risk-populations (MARPs) are found. We are also giving counseling and HIV/AIDS education to the youth and to people-living-in-prostitution (PLP) in the Philippines.

I have attended forums and national conferences as a youth representative of The Library Foundation - SHARE (a non-government organization of sexuality, health and rights educators in the Philippines). The non-government organizations I have been working with are lobbying for more rights-based national policies reverting child mortality and maternal death in the country.

The organization's main task is to create a venue for the Local Government Unit (specifically in the four key cities in the country - Pampanga City, National Capital Region, Davao City and Cebu City) and the local organized LGBT community and non government organizations of PLHIV to air their grievances and suggestions for the improvement of the delivery of services and the suppression of discrimination in the area.

TLF-SHARE has been organizing local LGBT communities, including PLHIV, for the creation of a more LGBT and PLHIV-friendly local ordinances in the cities in the Philippines. The organization has been providing these organizations with program implementation seminar and organizational skills training.

Also, I am one of the youth group organized by the Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights to conduct a study on the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers of the Philippines entitled Medium Term Plan for Development of the Philippines. Our group is included in the consultations aimed for the inclusion of youth participation in the national planning.
My dream:
I dream of a more equal world.
