I currently work as a copywriter/media liaison/webmaster for MES, a fantastic NPO in central Johannesburg with a 24 year history that has recently gone national. We focus on holisttic poverty alleviation through an award winning 3 step model that caters for the individual through his journey to eventual, full sustainability. I also run a small NPO consultancy called: Joining the Dots which is focused on building infrastructure and systems to contribute to the smoother running and fundraising potential of smaller NPOs.
My dream:
As a journalist originally, the value of the human story is worth much more than any stat. I also feel the true value education can offer in the NGO industry is training NPOs cheap and effective techniques in recording and telling their own stories this bridging the infrastructure gap and integrating good stories with technology.
I'm proud of:
MES's incredible success rate in rehabilitating lost souls into functional, sustainable members of society - the stories of which keep me inspired...
