- About Me:
- I am a broadcaster and social development expert, advocate and journalist, Mentor and Coach for younger women in the Diaspora and in the Gambia..
- My dream:
- Is a world in which young women live free of perennial poverty. This is done via skill training in various areas IT and Sewing and other areas of training that could lead to leadership and becoming economically empowered.
- I'm proud of:
- Being able to put the whole business plan together and having a strong team of experts and mentors who are taking me through this journey. However, community togetherness is lacking and I am putting all my efforts towards galvanising women my age, younger and older to come together and forge a strong sisterhood. This is the core of our work and I believe with strong allies it will happen and I have the ability to do that. The organisation is registered in the Gambia in July and ready to start. Also with the support I am getting from Sisters I have worked with in the past where I got all my training as an alumni of the African Women Leadership Institute (AWLI) held under Aknia Mama wa Afrika. I became inspired since then and hoping to inspire others in my quest for change for my community and developing a strong Sisterhood which what I am known for. I also have my own media page where I publish online productions on advocacy, education and human rights for African Women http://www.sotokoto.tv/shows/emancipation

If you want to discuss an element of the Competence process, or other issues related to local responses, please contribute to the forum. To participate in an ongoing discussion, sign in, go to the top of the page, click on the blue button ‘FORUM’ and then click on topic of the discussion you are interested in. In the FORUM you have an option to start a discussion on a topic of your interest.
