About Me:
My name is Kaggwa steven M. aged 40yrs husband to mugambira jesca with 3 sons and 1 daughter. In 2000, I was struck by a disease which left me paralyzed from chest to the toes the disease that earlier on started as saver flue, turned into complicated disease which doctors have failed to treat or find its cause up to today. I was divested when specialist doctors from Uganda and Kenya failed to find treatment for me, I and my wife lost our jobs, we left the city (KAMPALA) due to high expenses of living to Masaka southern Uganda.
However as time passed, I realized that self-pity was not to help me, my family and my community, me and my wife with a help of our relatives, friends and community members established a hands on training project which later on turned into a training institute, our Relatives and friends played a big role in supporting us in terms of counseling, financing and advise because I and my wife had lost hope.
The institute was named MUMMY’S INSTITUTE OF BEAUTY, DESIGN AND COMMERCIAL STUDIES, As the name “MUMMY” the institute’s vision is to bring back hope to vulnerable group of people most especially young girls, teenage mothers and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through training them in vocation and professional skills like; Hair dressing and beauty therapy, Motor vehicle and motorcycle mechanics, Catering and hotel management, secretarial studies/computer, fashion designing/ tailoring, sweater knitting, Nursery teaching, motor vehicle driving and maintenance, shoe making, function Decoration and others.
My dream:
Poverty eradication among vulnerable group of people in my area through training them in vocation and life skills
I'm proud of:
Am proud of participating in community development
