About Me:
I am currently a fourth year PhD in Education Policy student at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA. I have completed my coursework and am on track to graduate in May 2018. My dissertation focuses on understanding the nature of participation in collaborative approaches to evaluation in an international development context, focusing specifically on issues of power, voice and agency, particularly in Kenya. Prior to coming back to school for my (second) Masters and PhD, I worked as an evaluator for a teacher education program in rural India and as a curriculum designer for a string of low cost schools in East Africa. I have also worked on education and health programs focused on young girls in India and have extensive knowledge of program design, monitoring and evaluation particular to gender equity projects, policies and programs. I also have experience teaching English at a high school level to non-native speakers, particularly from South Asia. I hold a Masters degree in Journalism from Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, Pune, India and one in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA. I have extensive research experience in education and evaluation, having had worked in both fields as a professional and doctoral student/researcher.
My dream:
I am committed to the principles of social justice and equity and am extremely passionate about my work.
