A mentally ill injured woman from Jaisingpur bus station area was admitted for treatment

While coming to office in Kolhapur, a mentally ill woman who used to wander in Jaisingpur bus station premises for the past two months. This woman herself used to sing songs, beat herself up, destroy everything. But suddenly last night she had a fatal attack. Someone smashed a brick into her head. Bleeding profusely. The woman remained lying in the cold since night. In the morning people got a call from the bus station and informed that this woman should be taken for treatment soon. Immediately went there and saw her situation and decided to help her. An application was immediately prepared for the police on the spot. Signatures of the gathered local citizens were taken. And reached the police station with a crowd of citizens. A letter was given to the police and requested to treat the woman. As usual, the police started giving random answers. He was informed about the Mental Illness Act and the duties of the police. At that time Assistant Police Inspector Ranjit Patil gave the idea to the Health Department. A traffic inspector and a lady police officer also cooperated. With the help of ambulance 108, the woman was taken from Jaisingpur to Vasantdada Government Hospital, Sangli. Sonali Kamble and Prasad Kamble, activists of Avni Sanstha saw all the planning at this place. Doctors also refused to treat in the hospital. He suggested taking CPR to the hospital citing that they do not have facilities to accommodate mentally ill patients. Talked to the medical officers of the hospital and guided them about the bill of rights of the patients and forced them to treat the patient. At that time, the doctor admitted the woman for treatment, not in the ward. All her tests were also done. Prasad and Sonali madam did great job in this admission process.
