What makes a good story?

A great story:

• Has a challenge which was overcome
• A touching/moving story, has spiritual, emotional and sentimental component.
  
• Resonates with our experience
• Connects you to the experience so we can empathize
  
• Affirms our common humanity, reminds of something we should not overlook
• Gives somethings to learn form
  
• Motivates you to change
• Brings satisfaction to the teller
• Has a message the end of the story
  
• Allows the listens to better understand the teller (who we are)
• Gives you a good laugh/smile/cry
• Stimulates discussion
• Valuable for listener
• Is relevant and constructive
  
• Targets what audience you want to get the message to(must analyze the audience and select the message first)
• Has a climax!
• Starts off with  a plot... moves on to the climax and the end
  
• A good story must be a story!
• Describes the setting/sets the context
• Describes who are the characters,what they do. what happens. what is the torning point etc.
• A true, believable story.
