FORMULATION YOUTH COMPETENCE STUDENT (PIJAR) AS A STUDENT CENTER INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION OF REPRODUCTION HEALTH FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF POPULATION IN WEST JAVA PROVINCE

West Java Province is the most advanced and leading-edge, has a population of 43,021,826 with a growth rate of 1.89, (BKKBN, 2010). If it is assumed young adults 19-24 years age range of 13 million people and 1.8 million people from the part going through higher education (students). Students is intellectual group has a good idea, idealism, reformist spirit and sensitive to new things, so there is a curiosity from them. In the other hand, many students do not know the rights reproduction health caused access to get information it is still lacking and confined to medical students and psychology course. Meanwhile, the case of dating and free sex, access to illegal condom, abortion, HIV-AIDS and gender issues, still occurs in several universities in Bandung.
In addressing the above, BKKBN and 33 students from several universities in Bandung (UNPAD, UPI, ITB, UIN, STIKES-DHB) using the method SALT. We agreed to establish a forum for mediation and center of communication, information and education reproduction healthy student in West Java who called with PIJAR. It is the same as Youth Competence Process to share many information and material education to improving capacity building. But no limited to it’s, we make preventives measures to address global issue such as uncontrolled population, gender issue, free sex, HIV-AIDS and Reproduction Health Right. We had peer educator seminar and counseling training, energy saving-campaign and save our earth campaign. Various activities are carried out voluntarily by students from various universities in Bandung was joined in PIJAR. It’s fully supported by the BKKBN of West Java Province as well as various other related institutions. Our hope is not only the activities performed by students of western Java, but by all people to national and international levels.
