Community Action Day for World AIDS Day-2010

Dear all:

Today, I have attended the World AIDS Day 2010 celebration which was organised by Manipur State AIDS control Society at Imphal. Theme were " Universal Access and Human Rights".During the celebration, I have got an opportunities to discuss with few Community Based Organisation from Manipur which they are working on Sexually minorities group like FSW etc. I was share about the importance of community ownership and community responses. They were very much encouraged from the discussion and they expressed of gap of Universal Access and Community Access".During this time, I have introduced about the importance of life competence response to Sexually minorities group.They have express many strenght points from thier experiences and they would like to integrated with thier works and life. I should say, it was great time for Community Action time at WAD 2010.

Dear Sana,

Thanks for introducing elements of Community life competence wherever you go. Also many thanks for the wonderful photographs giving us a taste of Manipur. I could spot Dinesh, Pradeep the body builder and of course you! I also noticed a banner on HIV intervention in Manipur Jail. do you know that Guyana team under leadership of Guyana UNAIDS has successfully applied CLCP in prisons?

I am waiting to hear about how you facilitated CAD with facilitators. And thanks to your encouragement Jen has facilitated CAD with youth on 28th Nov in Dimapur. Fr Joe, Jacinta and Bijoya gave an orientation to the youth on community life competence.

I have learnt so much from you not only on facilitation but also transfer. Kalomay!
