Event Description
The ‘S’ in Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Interventions: Reflections from Tékponon Jikuagou and GREAT Projects.
Normative change interventions catalyze communities to reflect upon and challenge social norms that support individual attitudes and behaviors that lead to poor sexual and reproductive health. How do these approaches link with services, the broader community, and stakeholders? What is the balance between maintaining effectiveness and expanding to benefit more people and to foster policy and program development on a lasting basis?
Event Objectives
- Share research experiences of two community-based normative change interventions that seek to improve family planning uptake and related SRH outcomes
- Create a space for interested organizations to discuss how normative change approaches fit into SBC and to reflect upon the unique community and organizational challenges faced when engaging in normative change.
