Join Community life competence

Dear friends and members of India Competence,

Greeting from Siaap,

We are pleased to invite you to the National Knowledge Fair, Chennai, South India to be held between 1st – 3rd March 2012 at DMI St. Thomas International Centre, St. Thomas Mount and hosted by South India AIDS Action Programme (SIAAP), Tamil Nadu, India. This is organised in coordination with The India competence, National Support team which stimulates and connects local responses around the country, using AIDS Competence process (ACP) and Community Life Competence Process (CLCP).

Background:

India Competence is a group of individuals and organizations based in different parts of India which facilitate community life competence process affiliated to the Constellation for Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) registered in Belgium, an international organization which stimulates and connects local responses around the world. South India AIDS Action Programme (Siaap) (www.siaapindia.org) is an organization based in South India working with different communities such as female sex workers, MSM, Transgender, PLHIV, visually challenged and rural youth. SIAAP as the host organization of India Competence will host the National Knowledge Fair.

 The National Knowledge Fair will bring together organizations and individuals associated with Community life competence to share and learn from each other.

Objectives:

a)      To congregate community members and facilitators for sharing experiences in application and facilitation of the Community life competence approach in field areas with reference to their dreams.

b)      To create a knowledge asset synthesizing different experiences.

c)       To demonstrate the concept of SALT and CLCP for individuals and organizations new to  different stakeholders encouraging its implementation in different contexts and settings.

d)      To form groups to for sharing local responses and to formulate follow up action plans 

 

 

 

Participants:

About 75-100 participants including communities, facilitators and coaches of the Constellation from different states and few key or interested people from government and agencies in India.

 Activities :

 The event is scheduled for three days with introduction to SALT and deepening of the concepts of CLCP and SALT, Community market place to share the work of the communities through stalls that describe the work of communities as well as to enable communities, organisations, facilitators and coaches to share experiences.
