কমিউনিটির সীমানা পেরিয়ে—শহরে পরিবর্তনের যাত্রা

দীর্ঘদিন ধরে আমরা গ্রাম পর্যায়ে কমিউনিটির সাথে কাজ করছি—SALT ও CLCP পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে মানুষকে তাদের নিজেদের শক্তি,স্বপ্ন এবং একতার জায়গা থেকে পরিবর্তন শুরু করতে সাহায্য করেছি।আমাদের এই যাত্রা শুধু কমিউনিটির ভেতরেই থেমে থাকেনি। আজ সেই পরিবর্তনের বার্তা পৌঁছে গেছে যশোর শহরেও।৭ই জুলাই ২০২৪ জেলা প্রশাসকের কার্যালয়ে মাসিক এনজিও সমন্বয় সভায় আমাদের নির্বাহী পরিচালক লিপিকা দাসগুপ্তা GFC প্রোজেক্টের SALT Approach ও CLCP-এর ধারণা তুলে ধরেন। আলোচনায় অংশ নিয়ে ছয়টি এনজিও এই পদ্ধতিতে কাজ করার আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেন।তারা হলেন—

1. ADAB
2. RUPANTOR
3. মাসুদুর খান ফাউন্ডেশন
4. মানবিক যুব কল্যাণ ফাউন্ডেশন
5. LAMP
6. আমরা করবো জয়

পরে এই ছয়টি সংস্থা ধারার সাথে মিলে একটি যৌথ গ্রুপ তৈরি করেন। তাদের লক্ষ্য—শুধু নিজেদের সংগঠন নয় বরং একসাথে কমিউনিটি উন্নয়নে কাজ করা এবং Dream Building-এর মাধ্যমে স্বপ্নকে বাস্তবায়ন করা।

তারা কী শিখেছে:

মিটিংয়ে তারা SALT ও CLCP পদ্ধতির মূল শিক্ষা নিয়েছে—পরিবর্তন বাইরে থেকে চাপিয়ে দেওয়া যায় না, ভেতর থেকে শুরু হয়।
মানুষের নিজের শক্তি, সাফল্য ও স্বপ্নকে মূল্য দিতে হবে।ছোট ছোট পদক্ষেপই বড় পরিবর্তনের সূচনা করে।
একসাথে শোনা, শেখা, এবং পরিকল্পনা করাই স্থায়ী উন্নয়নের চাবিকাঠি।
তারা বুঝেছেন,এই পদ্ধতি গ্রহণ করলে প্রজেক্ট শেষ হলেও পরিবর্তন চলতে থাকে কারণ মানুষ নিজেরাই তার মালিক হয়ে ওঠে।

আমি কী বলেছি:

সেদিন মিটিংয়ে আমি আমার মাঠের অভিজ্ঞতা শেয়ার করেছি।বলেছিলাম—যখন প্রথম কমিউনিটিতে যাওয়া শুরু করি, মানুষ বলত ‘আমরা পারব না’, ‘আমাদের কিছুই নাই’। তখন আমি প্রশ্ন করতাম—আপনি কী নিয়ে গর্ব করেন? আপনার কমিউনিটিতে এমন কী আছে যা অন্য কোথাও নেই? গত এক বছরে আপনি কী এমন করেছেন যা আপনাকে শক্তি দিয়েছে?এই প্রশ্নগুলোই মানুষকে নতুন করে ভাবতে শিখিয়েছে। ছোট ছোট গল্প, ছোট ছোট উদ্যোগ একসাথে মিলে একটি কমিউনিটিকে বদলে দিয়েছে।এখন তারা নিজেরাই পরিকল্পনা করে, নিজেরাই কাজ করে।এটাই আসল জয়।

আমি বলেছি—যদি শহরের এনজিওগুলোও এই পদ্ধতি গ্রহণ করেন তাহলে শুধু প্রজেক্টের জন্য নয় বরং দীর্ঘস্থায়ী, মানুষের হাতে গড়া পরিবর্তন সম্ভব হবে।

আজ দেখতে পাচ্ছি,কমিউনিটির গণ্ডি পেরিয়ে শহরের সংগঠনগুলোও স্বপ্ন দেখছে—একসাথে পরিকল্পনা করবে,একসাথে কাজ করবে, আর পরিবর্তন আনবে।এটাই প্রমাণ করে, পরিবর্তনের বীজ যখন বোনা হয়,সেটা শুধু একটি জায়গায় থেমে থাকে না—বরং ছড়িয়ে পড়ে,শিকড় গেঁড়ে দেয় আর নতুন স্বপ্ন জন্ম দেয়। কমিউনিটি হোক বা শহর—যখন সবাই একে অপরের স্বপ্নের অংশীদার হয় তখন পরিবর্তন থামানো যায় না।

Beyond Community Boundaries—A Journey of Change in the City

For a long time, we have been working with rural communities—using the SALT and CLCP approaches to help people begin change from their own strengths, dreams, and unity. But our journey did not remain confined to community alone. Today, the message of transformation has reached the city of Jessore as well.

On July 7, 2024, during the monthly NGO coordination meeting at the District Commissioner’s office, our Executive Director, Lipika Das Gupta, shared the concept of the SALT Approach and CLCP under the GFC project. Inspired by the discussion, six NGOs expressed their interest in adopting this approach. They were:

1. ADAB
2. RUPANTOR
3. Masudur Khan Foundation
4. Manobik Jubo Kalyan Foundation
5. LAMP
6. Amra Korbo Joy

Later, these six organizations came together with DHARA to form a joint group. Their aim is not only to strengthen their own organizations but also to work collectively for community development—turning dreams into reality through Dream Building.

What they learned:

Change cannot be imposed from outside; it begins from within.People’s strengths, successes, and dreams must be valued.Small steps are what lead to bigger transformations.
Listening, learning, and planning together are the keys to sustainable development.They realized that when people adopt this approach, change continues even after projects end—because communities themselves become the owners of transformation.

What I shared:

That day, I spoke about my field experiences. I said—when I first started visiting communities, people would say, “We can’t do this,” or “We have nothing.” Then I would ask simple questions: “What are you proud of? What does your community have that no other place has? In the past year, what have you done that gave you strength?”

These questions encouraged people to think differently. Little by little, through small stories and small initiatives, an entire community began to change. Now, they make their own plans and take their own actions. That is the real victory.

I also shared that if NGOs in the city adopt this approach, transformation will not just serve projects but will create long-lasting, people-owned change.

Today, I see that beyond the boundaries of rural communities, urban organizations are also beginning to dream—to plan together, to work together, and to bring change together. This proves one thing: when the seeds of transformation are planted, they do not remain in one place. They spread, take root, and give birth to new dreams.Whether in communities or in cities—when everyone becomes a partner in each other’s dreams, change cannot be stopped.

Earlier, organizations used to help people in the form of goods according to their needs. But now, only certain organizations are doing this. SALT and CLCP give people the vision to recognize the power within themselves. When people or communities feel that the problem is their own, we can assume that they are now ready to work tirelessly without us.
