গত ৭ই নভেম্বর ২০২৫, জয়নহর হাই স্কুল মাঠে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে আমার কাটাখালির ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি টিম পদ্ম এবং মনিরা আপার মেয়ে খেলোয়ার দল ও দক্ষিনপাড়ার মেয়েদের অভিযাত্রি দল নিয়ে গঠিত মেয়ে ফুটবল টিমের মধ্যে প্রীতি ফুটবল ব্যাচ। আমার ম্যাসকিউলিনিটি দল আগে মেয়েদের সঙ্গে খেলতে লজ্জা পেত। কিন্তু হেলথি ম্যাসকিউলিনিটি SALT-এর প্রভাবে তারা মেয়েদের সাথে খেলতে একটুও লজ্জাবোধ করেনি। দক্ষিণপাড়ার অভিভাবকেরা আগে মেয়েদের ঘরের বাইরে খেলতে দিতেন না, অথচ আজ সেই মেয়েরাই মাঠে জার্সি পরে ছেলেদের প্রতিপক্ষ হয়ে খেলেছে—এই সাহস তারা পেয়েছে শুধুমাত্র SALT-এর কারণেই। যখন অভযাত্রি দলের মেয়েরা তাদের স্বপ্ন নিয়ে কথা বলেছিল, তারা বলেছিল—তারা জাতীয় পর্যায়ের খেলোয়াড় হতে চায়। সেই স্বপ্নের কথাটি প্রকাশ করতে পারায় তাদের আত্মবিশ্বাস ধীরে ধীরে বাড়ছে। ফ্যাসিলিটেটর হিসেবে আমরাও ভেবেছি কিভাবে তাদের স্বপ্ন দেখার সাহস আরো বাড়ানো যায়। এবং অভিভাবকদের বোঝানো যায় যে মেয়েদের বাইরে খেলা অনিরাপদ নয় বরং বিষয়টা আমাদের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির। ম্যাসকিউলিনিটি টিমের সদস্য ও তাদের অভিভাবকদের সঙ্গে, পাশাপাশি অভিযাত্রী টিমের সদস্য ও তাদের অভিভাবকদের সঙ্গে SALT আলাপ করার ফলেই এই ফুটবল টুর্নামেন্ট আয়োজন সম্ভব হয়েছে।
যদি তাদের সঙ্গে আগে SALT করা না হতো, তাহলে অভিভাবকেরা কখনোই মেয়েদের মাঠে খেলতে অনুমতি দিতেন না। পদ্ম ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি টিমের ছেলেরা এখন মেয়েদের “মেয়ে” হিসেবে নয়, বরং “খেলোয়াড়” হিসেবে দেখছে—এতে মেয়েরাও নিজেদের নিরাপদ ও আত্মবিশ্বাসী মনে করছে। মাঠে উপস্থিত অভিভাবকেরাও এই পরিবর্তন অনুভব করেছেন এবং ভবিষ্যতেও এমন খেলাধুলা আয়োজনের ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন। আমি আমার ম্যাস্কিউলিনিটি টিম নিয়ে খুব গর্বিত কারন তারা অনেকের ভুল ধারনা ভাঙতে সক্ষম হয়েছে। অনেকেই ভাবতো মেয়েরা বাইরে নিরাপদ নয় তাই ঘরে বন্দি হয়ে থাকাই ভালো। মাঠে উপস্থিত কয়েকজন অভিভাবক তাদের মেয়েদের খেলা দেখে অত্যন্ত মুগ্ধ হয়েছেন। দর্শকরাও বলছিলেন—খেলাটা খুব সুন্দর হয়েছে, কোনো অপ্রীতিকর পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়নি। খেলা দেখে মনে হয়নি যে এটি ছেলে ও মেয়ের আলাদা দল—বরং দুই দলই সুন্দর খেলার উপহার দিতে সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করেছে। মাঠ পরিচালক রাজু ভাই বলেছেন, সাধারণত এই মাঠে শুধু ছেলেরাই খেলে, কিন্তু এমন খেলা এখানে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে তা তিনি কখনো ভাবেননি। ভবিষ্যতে ছেলে ও মেয়েদের মধ্যে আরও অনেক খেলা আয়োজন হবে, এটাই এখন তার আশা। রেফারির দায়িত্বে ছিলেন জয়নগর প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের সিনিয়র শিক্ষক তপন কুমার পাল। তিনি দুই পক্ষের খেলোয়াড়দের আচরণ দেখে অত্যন্ত মুগ্ধ হয়েছেন এবং বলেছেন যে খেলা পরিচালনা করতে তার কোনো অসুবিধা হয়নি।
On 7 November 2025, a friendly football match was held at Joynagar High School field between a girls’ football team formed with players from my Katakhali Masculinity Team Padma, Monira Apa’s girls’ athlete team, and the girls’ Ovyatri team from Dokhinpara. Previously, my masculinity team felt shy to play with girls. But under the influence of healthy masculinity SALT, they did not feel any hesitation at all this time. In the past, parents in Dokhinpara would not allow their daughters to play outside the home. Yet today, those very girls came onto the field wearing jerseys and played as opponents against the boys—this courage came solely because of SALT. When the girls of the Ovyatri team spoke about their dreams, they said they wanted to become national-level players. Being able to voice these dreams is gradually building their confidence. As facilitators, we also reflected on how we can further nurture their courage to dream, and how to facilitate parents reflect that girls playing outside is not unsafe—rather, it is a matter of shifting our perspective. This football tournament became possible only because of the SALT conversations held with the members and parents of the masculinity team as well as the Ovyatri girls and their parents. Without SALT, the parents would never have allowed their daughters to play on the field. The boys of Padma Masculinity Team now see the girls not as “girls,” but as players—and this has made the girls feel safe and confident. The parents present on the field also felt this change and expressed their desire to see similar sporting events in the future. I am very proud of my masculinity team because they have been able to break many harmful misconceptions. Many people believed that girls were not safe outside and should remain confined at home. But several parents who watched the match were deeply impressed by their daughters’ performance. Spectators commented that the match was beautiful and that no unpleasant situation occurred. It did not feel like a match between boys and girls—rather, both teams played with full effort to offer a beautiful game. Field director Raju Bhai said that usually only boys play on this field, and he never imagined such a match would take place here. Now he hopes many more matches between boys and girls will be organized in the future. The referee was Tapon Kumar Pal, a senior teacher at Joynagar Primary School. He was highly impressed by the conduct of both teams and said he faced no difficulty officiating the match.
