Youtube channel: The Constellation SALT-CLCP

Today, a group SALT activity was conducted with middle-aged and elderly men. It was a meaningful experience that brought together diverse thoughts and experiences. The main topic of discussion was “concerns and their possible solutions.” Together, the participants reached a consensus on taking concrete steps to address these issues.

Everyone shared their views. All of them expressed deep concern about the young boys, girls, and children in society. They mentioned that after 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the education system changed drastically. Teachers and parents gave children mobile phones for studying, which made them habitual users. Gradually, this habit turned into an addiction.

We asked them, “What could be the solution to all this?”
They responded that today’s youth and children must engage in good and positive activities.

After that, we shared how we are working with small groups of children and larger groups of youth, and how this is bringing positive changes among them. Hearing this made everyone feel proud and happy. They collectively agreed that the kind of difficulties they once faced should not fall upon the new generation. Hence, they are trying to guide the children on the right path. Now that the young ones have started moving in a positive direction, they are determined to keep encouraging them.

Afterward, we began a discussion on masculinity.
During this discussion, they mentioned that the responsibilities placed on men gradually become an inseparable part of their lives. Some also shared that both men and society have accepted this as something that will simply continue. But if change is to happen, it must begin by developing new understanding and awareness among young boys and their parents.

During the conversation, everyone discussed the division of work, responsibilities, and roles between men and women. They observed that society mainly expects men to act as providers for the family’s needs.

The discussion was very positive and engaging. They felt happy to have a space where they could openly express their emotions and experiences.
