‎I am Sumita Bin, a facilitator at Arshirbad Organization. My work in the community is not only about listening to people’s life stories, it is also my passion. I search for their strengths, speak of their dreams, and together we reflect on how they can bring positive changes in their own lives. Every day, I learn something new. But recently, one experience touched my heart deeply. That experience has a name, Arati Bin. Arati is an ordinary woman, yet her life has become a beacon of inspiration. Through the light of the SALT process, she has discovered that her inner strength is the true path to change. Arati’s family is very simple. Her husband no longer works. Her sons have moved out and live with their own families. So in Arati’s life, her only source of support is her own hard work, and by her side is a daughter with disabilities, whose care rests solely on her shoulders. Arati is the mother of six children, four sons and two daughters. Her elder daughter is visually impaired. Though she lost vision in one eye, she is now married and living with her own family. Her younger daughter has an intellectual disability and lives with Arati. Every day at dawn, Arati wakes up, collects vegetables from her garden, and takes them to the market to sell. With this income, she manages household expenses and pays for her daughter’s treatment. But Arati does not stop at just maintaining her household. She takes her daughter to a special school for children with disabilities, ensuring that her child learns something new every day. After returning from school, Arati goes back to the field to work on the land. Balancing household responsibilities, her daughter’s care, and hard labor, Arati has never given up. With her perseverance, patience, and hard work, she has restored stability to her family. This is the true beauty of the SALT process, when we listen with attention, respect, and love, we uncover a person’s inner strength. And from that strength, real transformation begins. When I spoke with Arati, she not only shared her challenges but also revealed her inner strength and her dreams. She has proven that women are not merely bearers of responsibility; they are symbols of boundless strength and courage. From Arati’s life, we learn that every human being carries an invisible strength within. If we help people recognize that strength with love and respect, change becomes inevitable. Challenges are not an end; they can become the beginning of new possibilities.
‎‎আমি সুমিতা বিন। আশীর্বাদ অর্গানাইজেশনের একজন ফ্যাসিলিটেটর হিসেবে প্রতিদিন কমিউনিটিতে কাজ করি। মানুষের জীবনের গল্প শোনাই আমার কাজ নয়, আমার আবেগও বটে। আমি তাদের শক্তি খুঁজি, স্বপ্নের কথা বলি, আর একসাথে ভাবি, কীভাবে তারা নিজেদের জীবনে ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনতে পারে। প্রতিদিনই আমি নতুন কিছু শিখি। কিন্তু সম্প্রতি একটি অভিজ্ঞতা আমার হৃদয়কে গভীরভাবে ছুঁয়ে গেছে। সেই অভিজ্ঞতার নাম আরতি বিন।
‎তিনি একজন সাধারণ নারী, কিন্তু তার জীবন আজ অনুপ্রেরণার আলোকবর্তিকা। SALT প্রসেসের আলোয় তিনি শিখেছেন, নিজের ভেতরের শক্তিকেই পরিবর্তনের আসল উপায় হিসেবে কাজে লাগাতে। আরতি বিনের পরিবার খুব সাধারণ। স্বামী এখন আর কাজ করেন না। ছেলেরা আলাদা হয়ে গিয়েছে, তাদের সংসার নিজের মতো চলছে। তাই আরতির জীবনে ভরসা বলতে তার নিজের পরিশ্রম, আর পাশে আছে এক প্রতিবন্ধী মেয়ে, যার যত্ন নেওয়ার দায়িত্বও তিনিই বহন করেন। আরতির ছয় সন্তান, চার ছেলে ও দুই মেয়ে। তার বড় মেয়ে দৃষ্টি প্রতিবন্ধী। এক চোখে দেখতে পান না, তবে বিয়ে হয়ে যাওয়ায় এখন নিজের সংসারে আছেন। ছোট মেয়ে মানসিক প্রতিবন্ধী, আরতি তাকেই সঙ্গে রাখেন। প্রতিদিন ভোরে ঘুম থেকে উঠে আরতি তার বাগানের সবজি তুলে বাজারে বিক্রি করতে যান। বাজারে সবজি বিক্রির টাকাতেই চলে সংসার, চলে মেয়ের চিকিৎসা। তবে শুধু সংসার চালানোতেই তিনি থেমে থাকেন না। নিজের প্রতিবন্ধী মেয়েকে তিনি নিয়মিত প্রতিবন্ধী স্কুলে নিয়ে যান। সেখানে গিয়ে মেয়ে কিছু নতুন কিছু শিখে আসে। তারপর স্কুল থেকে ফিরে আবার খেতে যান, জমিতে কাজ করেন। এভাবে একদিকে সংসার চালানো, অন্যদিকে মেয়ের যত্ন, সব দায়িত্ব কাঁধে নিয়েও আরতি কখনো হার মানেননি। তার নিজের শক্তি, ধৈর্য আর পরিশ্রমেই তিনি পরিবারের স্বচ্ছলতা ফিরিয়ে এনেছেন। SALT প্রসেসের আসল সৌন্দর্য এখানেই, যখন আমরা মন দিয়ে শুনি, শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসা দিয়ে কারও ভেতরের শক্তি খুঁজে বের করি, তখন সেই শক্তি থেকেই মানুষ তার জীবনের পরিবর্তন ঘটাতে পারে। আমি যখন আরতির সঙ্গে গল্প করি, তিনি শুধু তার চ্যালেঞ্জই নয়, তার ভেতরের শক্তি ও স্বপ্নও প্রকাশ করেছেন। তিনি প্রমাণ করেছেন, নারী মানেই শুধু দায়িত্বের বোঝা নয়, বরং অসীম শক্তি ও সাহসের প্রতীক। আরতির জীবন থেকে আমরা শিখেছি, প্রতিটি মানুষ নিজের ভেতরে এক অদৃশ্য শক্তি বহন করে। ভালোবাসা ও শ্রদ্ধা দিয়ে যদি আমরা সেই শক্তিকে খুঁজে বের করতে সাহায্য করি, তবে পরিবর্তন অনিবার্য। প্রতিবন্ধকতা কোনো শেষ নয়, বরং নতুন সম্ভাবনার শুরু হতে পারে।
