Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF)–এর “Tech Connect: Empowering Youth to Become Global Citizens” প্রোগ্রামের ফাইনাল এক্সিবিশনে BRED টিমকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছিল। এই আমন্ত্রণটা আমাদের কাছে শুধু একটা অনুষ্ঠানের ডাক ছিল না—GYRF ও BRED–এর মধ্যে যে সম্পর্কটা Global Fund for Children–এর SALT–CLCP প্রকল্পে কাজ করতে গিয়ে তৈরি হয়েছে, সেটার এক সুন্দর প্রকাশ।

ARC Cohort Bangladesh–এর অধীনে ৬টি প্রতিষ্ঠান SALT নিয়ে কাজ করছে। কিন্তু এতো ঘনিষ্ঠতা, এতো আন্তরিকতা—আমি সত্যিই আগে কখনো দেখিনি। সাধারণত দেখা যায় এক প্রতিষ্ঠান আরেকটিকে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী হিসেবে দেখে, হিংসা বা প্রতিযোগিতার একটা চোখে দেখার মানসিকতা থাকে। কিন্তু আমাদের এই Cohort–এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যাপারটা পুরোই উল্টো। এখানে এক প্রতিষ্ঠান আরেকটিকে নিজের মতো করে আপন করে নেয়, অনুষ্ঠানে নিমন্ত্রণ করে, সহযোগিতায় এগিয়ে আসে। কেউ বিপদে পড়লে অন্যরা পাশে দাঁড়ায়। এই বন্ধনটাই সবচেয়ে বেশি আমাকে ছুঁয়ে যায়।

অনুষ্ঠানের দিন হলে পৌঁছে প্রথমেই দেখা হলো প্রিয়া আপু আর সাদিয়া আপুর সাথে। দু’জনেই এমন হাসিমুখে আমাদের গ্রহণ করলেন—মনে হচ্ছিল যেন আমাদের জন্যই তারা অপেক্ষা করছিলেন। একটু পর যখন আমরা অডিটোরিয়ামে ঢুকলাম, তখন আরও একটা সুন্দর চমক অপেক্ষা করছিল—আমাদের Cohort পার্টনারদের জন্য আলাদা করে নির্ধারিত আসন! এটা দেখে সত্যিই হৃদয়টা ভরে গেল। ভাবতেই ভালো লাগছিল যে আমরা সবাই পাশাপাশি বসে পুরো অনুষ্ঠানটা উপভোগ করবো।

এর পরেই লিপিকা দিদির সঙ্গে দেখা! যশোর থেকে শুধুমাত্র Cohort–এর প্রতি ভালোবাসা আর বন্ধনের টানে তিনি অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিতে এসেছেন—এটা আমাকে সত্যি সত্যি অনুপ্রাণিত করলো। তিনি সবার খোঁজখবর নিলেন, আমাদের সাথে গল্প করলেন—যেন আমরা সবাই একই পরিবারের সদস্য। তারপর একে একে এসে জড়ো হলেন আমাদের আলোকিত করি টিম এর ব্রিন্তী আপু, নিশাত আপু, পারভেজ ভাইয়া—দলের উপস্থিতি পুরো জায়গাটাকে আরও আপন করে তুললো।

অনুষ্ঠান শুরু হলে আমি সত্যিই মুগ্ধ হয়ে গেলাম। ৬টি স্কুলের মধ্যে ৫টি স্কুল বাংলাদেশি সংস্কৃতি, ঐতিহ্য, ইতিহাস আর মূল্যবোধ এমনভাবে তুলে ধরলো—যে এক মুহূর্তের জন্যও বিরক্ত হওয়ার সুযোগ ছিল না। প্রতিটা পরিবেশনা ছিল সুসংগঠিত, সাজানো–গোছানো এবং ভীষণ মনোমুগ্ধকর। আমাদের দেশকে তারা যে সম্মান আর সৌন্দর্য দিয়ে উপস্থাপন করলো, সেটা দেখার মতোই।

এরপর শুরু হলো আফ্রিকা, জিম্বাবুয়ে, কেনিয়ার অংশগ্রহণকারীদের পরিবেশনা। তারা তাদের নিজস্ব সংস্কৃতি, পোশাক, সংগীত, নাচ—সবকিছুই খুব সুন্দরভাবে বাংলাদেশের দর্শকদের সামনে তুলে ধরলো। আর তার থেকেও বড় কথা—তারা বাংলাদেশের গানেও যে দারুণ পরিবেশনা করলো, সেটা সত্যিই হৃদয় ছুঁয়ে গেল। যেন দুই দেশের সংস্কৃতি মিলেমিশে এক অনন্য সমন্বয় তৈরি করলো।

অনুষ্ঠানের বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন ইউনেস্কো ঢাকা অফিসের প্রধান ও প্রতিনিধি Ms. Susan Vise। তিনি বাংলাদেশের স্কুলগুলোর এমন একাডেমিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক সমন্বয় দেখে বারবার বাংলাদেশের প্রশংসা করছিলেন। তার কথায় অনুভব করলাম—আমাদের শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীলতা, শিকড়ের প্রতি টান, ও সাংস্কৃতিক বহুমাত্রিকতা সত্যিই আন্তর্জাতিক মানের। সেদিনের প্রতিটি মুহূর্তই আমার কাছে বিশেষ। পুরো দিনটি ছিল এক অনন্য সৌন্দর্য, মমতা, সহযোগিতা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক বৈভবের এক অপূর্ব সংমিশ্রণ।

দিনের শেষে মনে হচ্ছিল—GYRF আমাদের শুধু একটি অনুষ্ঠানে আমন্ত্রণই জানায়নি; তারা আমাদের সম্মান দিয়েছে, আপন করে নিয়েছে, আর দেখিয়েছে যে সহযোগিতা আর ভালোবাসার মধ্যেই প্রকৃত উন্নয়ন ও সম্পর্কের শক্তি লুকিয়ে আছে। এতো সুন্দর একটি আয়োজনের জন্য GYRF–এর প্রতি সত্যিই কৃতজ্ঞ। দিনটি আমার মনে অনেকদিন ধরে উজ্জ্বল হয়ে থাকবে।

We, the BRED team, were invited to the final exhibition of Grow Your Reader Foundation (GYRF)’s “Tech Connect: Empowering Youth to Become Global Citizens” program. This invitation was not just a call to attend an event—it was a beautiful reflection of the relationship that has grown between GYRF and BRED through our work together under the Global Fund for Children’s SALT–CLCP project.

Under ARC Cohort Bangladesh, six organizations are working with the SALT approach. But such closeness, such sincerity—honestly, I had never seen anything like it before. Usually, one institution sees another with competitiveness or rivalry. But in the case of our Cohort, the reality is completely different. Each organization treats the others as their own—inviting them to events, supporting one another, and standing beside each other in times of need. This bond is what touches me the most.

On the day of the event, as soon as we reached the hall, we first met Priya Apu and Sadia Apu. Their warm smiles and the way they welcomed us made me feel as if they had been waiting just for us. A little while later, when we entered the auditorium, another pleasant surprise awaited—there were designated seats arranged specially for our Cohort partners! Seeing this truly filled my heart. It felt wonderful knowing that we would all sit together and enjoy the program side by side.

Then we met Lipika Didi! She had come all the way from Jashore purely out of her love and connection with the Cohort—which genuinely inspired me. She asked about everyone’s well-being and talked to us with such warmth, as if we were all members of the same family. Soon after, members of the Alokito Kori team—Brinti Apu, Nishat Apu, and Parvez Bhaiya—joined us, making the entire atmosphere feel even more familiar and comforting.

When the program began, I was truly mesmerized. Five out of six schools beautifully showcased Bangladeshi culture, heritage, history, and values. There wasn’t a single moment to feel bored. Every performance was well-organized, polished, and deeply captivating. The respect and beauty with which they presented our country was truly admirable.

Then came the performances from participants representing Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. They presented their own cultures—their clothing, music, dance—so gracefully before the Bangladeshi audience. And what touched me even more was that they performed Bangladeshi songs with such excellence. It felt like the cultures of two continents were blending together into a harmonious whole.

The special guest of the event was Ms. Susan Vise, Head of Office and Representative, UNESCO Dhaka. She repeatedly praised the impressive blend of academics and culture showcased by the Bangladeshi schools. Listening to her, I felt proud—our students truly possess creativity, a deep respect for their roots, and rich cultural diversity that can shine on global platforms.

Every moment of that day felt special to me. The entire day was a delightful combination of beauty, warmth, collaboration, and cultural richness.

By the end of the day, I felt that GYRF had not just invited us to an event—they had honored us, embraced us, and shown us that true development and strong relationships grow from collaboration and love. I am genuinely grateful to GYRF for such a wonderful event. This day will remain bright in my memory for a long time.
