SYRUS AJUNA is a passionate Young KP advocate with wealth experience in advocacy, KP research, developing programmes, IEC/SBCC tools, M&E tools, websites, coordinating programmes and resource mobilization. Born and raised in Uganda, SYRUS has always had a strong interest in influencing positive social change and in building communities to take charge in the response of issues that affect them. He is a passionate health (HIV, TB & Harm Reduction) advocate with over 6 years proven experience in influencing change in policies and practices in the interest of the most vulnerable people in the community. HIV/AIDS, TB, SRH and Harm Reduction have been pertinent issues close to SYRUS’s heart and he has dedicated much of his professional life working to end AIDS and reducing harms associated with the use of drugs.
He is the founder of Teens Link Uganda: https://teenslinkuganda.wordpress.com/ , represents Young KPs on the Technical working group in the Ministry of health, has always been on fora’s to review national KP key documents such as the MARPs Priority Action Plan, also part of the core writing team for the national GF and CoP concepts for Uganda representing the KP constituency and presently working with Uganda Harm Reduction Network where he is coordinating the 5 years PITCH project (Partnership to Inspire Transform and Connect the HIV Response). The programme whose aim is to build a cadre of strong, effective sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) advocates across five African countries including Uganda.
