About Me:
I am a very strong believer in the Human Capacity Development Process.
My dream:
My dream is to have everyone using the Life Competence Approach
My concern:
How do we make a strong presence in the world?
What I think of Community Life Competence:
This approach is the only way out of getting all of us fully in control of our health.
What do I want to do to spread Community Life Competence?
Facilitate AIDS Competence in my community, Share about AIDS Competence with potential partners; friends; colleagues, I want to apply SALT in my own life (S: Stimulate; Support; A: Appreciate; L: Listen; Learn; Link; T: Transfer; Team)
The small secretariat of the Constellation also needs help. Do you want to help? I want to:
Share AIDS Competence with potential partners, online facilitation

Short Story on Malaria Competence Location: Bonthe District, Southern Sierra Leone

Posted on May 19, 2009 at 3:50am 3 Comments

After attending the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Facilitators training on the Malaria Competence Approach in Kenya in May 2005, and due to my preserved need for such a community tool, I introduced the Malaria Competence Approach in Bonthe district, Southern Sierra Leone. The initial simple process for introducing the Competence Approach to communities was by inviting five representatives from each of the 12 chiefdoms in Bonthe district to two-day Community Development Consultative meeting on the… Continue

Hi Joseph
How are you today? I am a health club coordinator in a secondary school in Cameroon. I have been reading your papers with keen interest and will like you to share the Sierra Leone experience using the self assessment framework in schools.
This experience is new here. I will like to undergo some refreshers in view of becoming a facilitator in this part of Africa.
Waiting to hear from you. Happy and prosperous new year 2010

Hello Brother joseph,

thanks for sharing the sera leone experience. I would want to remind all friends that as we develop our round 9 proposals for GF Funding, let us factor malaria competence related activities in our proposals. As we talk about community system strengthening we need to intensify our community base activitiesand allow communities to take the lead where necessary.malaria competence allows community action.

Hey Joseph,
It is not because your picture is in the banner of this website (see top of the page) that we don't want to see your picture in your profile ;-)

Take care,

Hi Joseph,

Just a second ago, I was thinking about your colleague who had a stroke. I hope he is ok. I told you on the phone about this incredible video of a neuroscientist in the US who had a stroke and who explains what happens in her brain... and mind.
Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyyjU8fzEYU
Enjoy, it is so beautiful.
