These experiences and stories do not require a discussion or exchange, but comments are welcome! Some stories in the blog link directly to our knowledge asset (see tab knowledge asset).I am sure your experience will be useful to others!

Learning Together: Our Forum is the place where we learn together. If you want to discuss an element of the Competence process, or other issues related to local responses, please contribute to the forum.

Again, we are very happy to have your voice on Community Life Competence and look forward to your contributions.

    Dear Namara,

Thanks for your warm welcome into the network. I hope that I will have the possibility to meet you in Uganda in April. The project that I am a part of is connected to IDI in Kampala and Keith McAdam former Manager at the clinic is one of the developer together with three other doctors with a lot of engagement into HIV prevention and strenghtbased development. I became involved last summer and hope that I will be able to be a part of spreading hope an encourage people to use their abilities towards their preferred future. I am looking forward to hear more about your experiences and knowledge. I agree with you that together we can make the world a better place to live in.

Warm regards from Kicki and Sweden

The world is small:) Alex is also involved in the project I am involved in as part from the IDA. I just sent him the guide for the research program. The program is developed out from a program called steps in stone (Alice Welbourn). Elspeth McAdam and Charles Steinberg that has been working a lot in Uganda have developed it further with more appreciative and strenghtbased approach.

I have just recently become a part of the team and have done some writing and thinking also according to strenghtbased and appreciative focus. Have you heard anything about that they are looking for facilitators for the program and people responsible for the research project? It is really exiting to hear some of your experiences and I hope that I will have the opportunity to take part of your experience and knowledge. For me HIV prevention is new, I became involved because of my experineces of strenghtbased community work.

Lovely to hear from you and I am looking forward to stay connected. Warm regards and sunshine from a cold Sweden

    Hi Arthur,

I could not access the internet all of last week, had technical problems with the server. Its finally fixed.
  • NAMARA ARTHUR ARAALI

Hullo Fiona, thank God that you managed to fix the problem with the server. How is your work. What are you involved in. Will be happy to hear more from you.

Dear Arthur, I am looking forward to e mail your friend at Gotland and I hope that you will be able to visit both of us in Sweden in the future. I also hope the fundings will be ready so that I can come to Uganda in April. Its fantastic to already have a friend there:)

I gave you the wrong name of the start of the project, the name of the original programme was stepping stone, with Alice Welbourn. The last years the program has been developed with more strenghbased and appreciative approach and I was included on a corner last summer.

Sweden is for the moment covered with a lot of snow. We are not used to have so much snow in Stockholm and it gives us the experiences of not counting on that everything work all the time, like buses and roads. Warm regards from Kicki and Stockholm

    Thank Kick,
I really look forward to meeting you either in Uganda or in Sweden.; whichever comes first they are all our homes. I already experienced how cold it can be when I first visited your Country in Winter of 2001. It was really cold though I managed to go skiing.
I have heard about stepping stones only that I have never paid much attention to it. This is the time.
Yesterday there was another progress in Uganda towards protecting the rights of the minorities when almost half a million of people petitioned Ugandan Parliament to drop the Anti Homosexuality Bill.
Some religious leaders and prominent HIV/AIDS activists handed a copy of the petition to the Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament. They described the bill as discriminatory and draconian which violets the Constitution of Uganda.
Kick Its always nice hearing from you. Keep in touch
    Arthur
