Event Description

Every community has the capacity to respond to life's challenges, to build a common vision, to act and to adapt. The Constellation nurtures and reveals that capacity. This skills building session seek to engage young person’s at the Youth Pre-conference from around the world who will craft actions in their communities using Community Life Competence process as their Way of Working (SALT- Stimulate, Appreciate, Learn, Transfer) and Way of Thinking (Human Capacity to Respond) with in their communities either as advocate or programme implementers. Participants will be Introduce to the SALT method and will stimulate conversations that go into personal hopes and concern for the initiative as well deeper questions on what drives their work. In specific, they will apply:

‘Are we human?’ exercise, ‘Hopes and concerns’ exercise, Identifying strengths of youth or their  communities, An introduction to a strength-based SALT process.

Using Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) as a practical way to nurture competence in participants at the Youth Pre-Conference 2012, the process is rooted in local ownership and strengths. The session’s participants will be taken through the following interactive steps of Envision, Self – Assessment and Prioritize and plan for action.
