‘Dare’ tells how a community of families and friends in France work their way towards a shared dream. The film shows the power of the dream to hold us together through the inevitable challenges. Dare

I find this film to be a treasure trove, there are so many insights from which I have gained so much. I have selected three short clips that capture the essence of what local response means to me.

First, there is Zachary. “For a dream to come true, we must create a model and execute it. That’s the most important thing.” I don’t think there is anything more to say.

Next there is Stephanie, Zac’s mother. She talks eloquently about the moment the dream ceases to be a dream and you realise that you are in a different world of taking action. Stephanie captures exactly what has happened to me perhaps three times in my life. It is scary, but it is so exciting.

And then there is Xavier, Zac’s father. “Xavier, you believe in your dreams. So yes, I have the right to dream! Yes, yes! Thank you.” It is not so much what Xavier says, it is the way that he says it. Once again, he captures exactly how I have felt. It is a truly wonderful moment.

Zachary, Stephanie and Xavier thank you so much for this and for so much more that is in the film.
