Mingalarpar to all
I had visited to aids competence office, Chiang Mai at November 2009. During this trip, I could try to understand about the SALT methodology. Then I had tried to transfer these methodology to my staffs, partners and local SHG. So 2 SHG had understand the SALT and then they also tried to apply their activities. Thanks for aidscompetence!!! I think more of SHG will apply SALT and get success in their activities.

Dear Ye Win, good to read this from the other side of the world. I am currently in Latin America where groups and networks are introduced to AIDS Competence and SALT. I am particularly interested in how the SHG have integrated it and their experiences so far.

I hope we can learn more from the communities in Myanmar and their (local) response to HIV.

Regards,
Gaston

Very well done Ye Win......really glad to hear that you and your team at SHGs are happy with SALT and be able to adapt the idea of SALT to your programmes.

You already made a nice day for me with your nice story : )

Thanks for your comments!
I want to share my experiences about SALT sharing to SHGs. Firstly I discuss with the other staffs for sharing SALT because the SHGs members are low literacy. So we had to share the SALT not only iin directly (explain SALT)but also indirectly (exploring their strength and assessing the health education methods done by others). So the SHGs are now preparing the some new health education programs.
Have a nice day!

Ye Win, great to hear from you. Transferring the excitement about SALT and the potentials for change it brings back in our own context is something many of us struggle with. What did you do, to transfer to your colleagues?
Best wishes, Marlou
