I haven’t written anything in a long time. Today, suddenly, I felt like writing.
Usually, when I feel alone, I call my close ones and talk to them. I share my problems with them. They give me different advice and suggestions—do this, do that. Trying to solve a problem by following everyone’s advice often makes things more complicated. Sometimes it works, but not always. And when the problem isn’t solved, distance starts to grow between us. Misunderstandings happen. I feel annoyed or upset with them, thinking they didn’t give me the right advice. And this cycle continues.
But after getting introduced to SALT, at first I kept it limited to my work—within the organization. I practiced individual SALT and group SALT with many people—whether in the community, cohort, or within my workplace. But I never really thought that I could practice SALT with myself.
A few days ago, I faced a problem. Like before, I shared it with my close friends, and they gave me various suggestions. At night, I kept thinking—which advice should I accept? Which one would solve my problem faster? Then, while walking, I stood in front of the mirror and thought—can I try to solve this problem on my own?
After that, I made a plan around the problem and took my own initiative to solve it. And when I finally did, I felt truly happy. I felt incredibly proud of myself.
For so long, I used to depend on others—running after people to figure out how to solve my problems. I would disturb them, and sometimes feel frustrated, thinking they weren’t giving me enough importance.
But after practicing SALT with myself, my perspective has started to change. Now, I don’t misunderstand others anymore. My self-confidence has grown.
Now, when I feel low or face a problem, I still talk to my close ones—but I don’t seek advice. I share my good feelings with them. They appreciate me, encourage me. I listen to their good moments too, and appreciate them in return.
I also don’t give advice anymore. I listen to everyone, encourage everyone—and myself as well.
Since I started walking with SALT, many things in my life have become easier. I no longer sit and wait for someone. I think for myself and find my own solutions.
In any situation, I ask myself questions and search for the answers within. Because now, I am confident—I can solve things on my own.

In this blog, you have presented your journey of self-confidence in a very honest and inspiring way. You have given a very important and powerful message that by practicing SALT with yourself, we can understand and solve our own problems. SALT teaches us that just as we solve problems at work, we can overcome every crisis in our personal life by using SALT.
What a beautiful example Humaira! Appreciation starts from self. Thanks for the blogs.
