The Membership types are of a broad category including various stakeholders who interact with the CoP, to influence its outcomes directly or indirectly. This Incomplete list of members for a Community of Practice (CoP) that practices Life Competence, with a brief definition each could be:
- Community Member:
A member of the local community, usually residing within a specific geographic area, such as a village, town, or part of a city.
- Virtual Member:
A member who participates in the CoP through digital platforms, such as online forums, social media groups, or video conferencing.
- Community Facilitator:
An individual who facilitates the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) within the CoP, using The Constellation's Ways of Thinking (WoT) and Ways of Working (WoW), with SALT being the WoW.
- Community Leaders or Gatekeepers:
Influential individuals whom the community largely follows and respects, often making decisions on behalf of the community.
- Critics or Skeptics:
Individuals who may oppose or question the community leaders' decisions or the CoP's practices.
- Fence Sitters:
Members who maintain a neutral stance, observing the community's activities without actively taking sides or contributing.
- Champions:
Members who take the lead on specific tasks or issues, often volunteering their time and effort to drive positive change within the community.
- Donors:
Individuals or organizations that provide financial or material support to the CoP, either internally or externally.
- Technical Experts:
Individuals with specialized knowledge or expertise in a particular theme or domain relevant to the CoP.
- Evaluators:
Individuals assessing the CoP's effectiveness and impact.
- Researchers:
Scholars studying the CoP's dynamics, outcomes, or specific aspects of the domain, or functions of the CoP .
- Do-gooders or Supporters:
Well-intentioned individuals or organizations providing additional support, resources, or services.
- Supervisors of Facilitators:
Individuals overseeing the work of Community Facilitators.
- Government Officials:
Representatives from local, regional, or national government agencies interacting with the CoP.
- Political Leaders:
Elected representatives or politicians engaging with the CoP.
- Business Leaders:
Entrepreneurs, executives, or owners of local businesses interacting with the CoP.
- Volunteers:
Individuals contributing their time and skills to support the CoP's activities.
- New Members:
Individuals who have recently joined the CoP, often requiring orientation, support, and guidance to become integrated into the community.
- Alumni Members:
Former members of the CoP who have moved on but may still maintain connections, provide guidance, or contribute to the community in various ways.
- Affiliate Members:
Individuals or organizations partnering with the CoP, sharing resources, expertise, or networks to achieve common goals.
- Honorary Members:
Individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions, achievements, or dedication to the CoP, often granted honorary membership as a token of appreciation.
- Silent Observers:
Members who participate in the CoP by observing discussions, meetings, or activities without actively contributing or engaging in discussions, who are not fence sitters in that they are decided as to whether they are with the Critics or with the Champions. They are usually silent supporters or silent critics but not open supporters or open critics.
- Scribes:
Members who are observers and who gather information to make Knowledge Assets (KA) and represent the whole CoP as owners of the knowledge product produced.
- Writers, Editors and or Publishers:
Members who produce newsletter, reports, technical documents, and other Knowledge Products (KP) in different media.
- IT Experts:
Members who are qualified and or trained in IT who work on making software, websites, Apps, APIs, Bots, AI for the network of Competence CoPs, namely The Constellation
- Voting Members:
Members who volunteer to represent and to decide on decision-making for the network of Competence CoPs, namely The Constellation
- Board Committee Members:
Members who are responsible for all the decision making and executive functions of the network of Competence CoPs, namely The Constellation
- Founding Members:
Members who conceived, registered, started, established, and continue to support the structure, functions, and mode of working of the network of Competence CoPs, namely The Constellation
- Any other membership Type?
