Brief English translation
In this video, Yamuna Nayak, M&E officer CARE EMPHASIS project, Mumbai shares her experience of community life competence (CLC). India competence has been working with her team on community engagement in this project on cross-border migration and HIV.
Pre CLC scenario- Our team especially Outreach workers (ORWs) were under pressure for achieving monthly targets of HIV testing by Nepali and Bangla speaking migrants.
Post CLC scenario- After CLC, communities have started taking ownership of the HIV issue. They now have realised that its their issue and responsibility and they have to go for testing. They are taking other community members for HIV testing as well. Slowly the numbers are going up. The best thing is that "our staff is not taking tension on HIV testing, it is now community's tension and responsiblity". We are proud that now we are together working with community
