A story from the Chiang Mai gay pride parade!

I wrote an article on the mess that was the 2nd annual Gay Pride Parade in Chiang Mai. I recognise that it's one-sided. But follow the link for the article. Comments are welcome!

Take care:

Great story. A strong human (and almost Buddhist?) response to the situation. It shows a lot of strengths. It's not about 'what happened', but 'how do we deal with what happened' and Tor sets a good example.

i think that's a great idea. at the conference in Feb. we talked about how the police are getting involved at the community level, especially in Cambodia, however it still is fraught with challenges. P'Tor mentioned that he spoke with police and political leaders and they seemed to agree at the time, however, as soon as the heat was on, both groups became hostile. I would hope that it would be an open and positive visit, if it would happen! great idea, Laurence!

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing the great strengths and opportunities coming out of this event :-)

Ignorance always leads to suffering, for both sides I believe. One idea pups up: why not organizing SALT visits to these lesbian and gay communities with political leaders and police, etc. Just meeting each other as human beings and sharing our hopes and concerns :-)
