Constellation team facilitated SALT CLCP 2nd phase training in the block Jhadol and Girwa blocks front line health workers, CHAI field staff, patient support group members, youth group members and community family members to build a dream for their health, around their home, village and community members.

(On 4th Dec 2019, Dr Michael Steffens visited Village Hiragata, Kamrup Rural, Assam, India for evaluation of CLCP and SALT approach in building community ownership on child health. Village Sakiapara, Udalguri District, Assam (India). We are using CLCP and SALT process for community engagement on immunization and child health. ANM and ASHA are health workers in India
ANM- Initially there were left outs and drop outs in immunization in this village in year 2017. Through SALT approach, ASHA realized that she could tap the community and rope in the women and if they are involved she could get 100% immunisation. Male participation in immunization has improved. This is Nirmala. She is just fifteen years old. She is a school drop out and managed to go to middle school because her village has school upto 8th standard only. Thereafter one needs to go out of the village in nearby taluka place to get higher secondary education. And her father do not have adequate money to send girl child to pursue higher education.

In Uaipur, we visited Anganwadi Centre in Upla Chotiya village. When we went there, SALT meeting was going on and some 12-15 villagers from the age group 12-70 years were present at the centre.
