Lessons Learned from a Facilitation "Understanding SALT' in Singapore, November 9-11, 2018, by Veronique, Wiwin and Sirinate

Key lessons we have learned from our joint facilitation (together with Jean-Louis Lamboray, Ranganayaki Thangavelu from Beyond, and Vincent Ng from Good S pace) are as follows.

To know the group, listen to them and adapt. The participantsare very smart and used to structural ways of study, training, and working. They are also grown up in…

Concerns versus Problem

I have a great privilege to be part of a wonderful coaching team for the Aquatic Agricultural System (AAS) Competence in Bangladesh, Solomon Islands and Zambia. Last week, I’ve  learned so much from the team (i.e. Bobby from India, Olivia from UK, Onesmus from Kenya and Wiwin from Indonesia) on how to explain the differences between ‘concern’ and ‘problem’ and why the Constellation chooses to emphasize on ‘concerns’. Here are what we have put our thoughts together.

Hi Sirinate...

Hello from Cape Town!  It's been a very long time since we've seen each other.  I hope you're well.

The Constellation has a team working on preparing the Annual Report for 2011, and I'm trying to gather information on partnerships.  I know you've been the lead on the work with ADB Phase 2 support (although, I understand most of that work was done in 2010).

Over the next few days, I'll be reading all the partnership reports, and using those to write a short partnership summary.  By next week, I'll send you that summary for your comments and edits.

I may also, in the next few days, send you a short questionnaire with some questions for your reflection about the partnership.  Is there an email address you'd prefer me to send it to?

In the meantime:

  1. Is there anything particularly significant from that partnership you think we need to highlight through the Annual report?
  2. Are there any links already on ning to blog-posts, photos or videos from that partnership?
  3. If nothing exists yet on ning, do you have any high-resolution, good-quality photo(s) or a story from the field that you'd like to showcase?

Thanks for your help.  I'm looking forward to working together.

Talk soon,

Ricardo
