A warm welcome to Michael Katta from Sierra Leone to Youth competence group. Says Michael on his concern "The low standards of education and the underdevelopment in our Country. This has led to increased poverty in our society. I am really concern about how to help people alleviate poverty."

Hello All,

Greetings from Delhi!

I will be joining a programme on Community Media practices soon and would like to start by learning from people's experiences :)

Would love to hear from you all who have worked with communities and are interested in alternative media practices.

Thanks,

Akanksha

A warm welcome to Gemma in this group. Gemma is from Netherlands and her dream in her profile reads "To work with communities and bring people closer to their hearts and closer together."

This is lovely Gemma. Wonderful to have you with us.

Dear Members,

I am delighted to share that two members of our Youth Competence group have volunteered to facilitate the group. They are:

Emily Bodiford based in USA

and

Lois Hutubessy - from Netherlands based in France

I am looking forward to their facilitation. I know most of you and the great work you are doing with youth. Hope we can all make the best use of our group. I invite your suggestions and advice on this.

Now over to our facilitators- Emily & Lois.

Warm wishes,

Rituu

Hi Emily, Yes, nice 'meeting' here ;)! I've just been in France and The Netherlands - France for work and The Netherlands visiting friends. Your question: if we act from a place of fear, we are always on the defensive, ready to be 'attacked', not free, unable to spread our wings. Conflict in some form or another is pre-programmed. If on the other hand we act out of our true nature - love - there are no limits to what we can achieve. We'll naturally attract love, growth, possibility. It's alive, and this is what life is about ... :)

Yes Rituu, I will. I need to write it up first and I just got back late last night after 10 days on the road. Give me a couple of days please :)
