Dear All,
The vast majority of people with HIV and AIDS live in lower- and middle-income countries. But HIV today is a threat to men, women and children on all continents around the world.

Hi everyone. Just a quick thought from me. Let's remember that a community can be any group of people coming together to share and connect. Community Action Day doesn't just have to be "out in the field" per se. It could be celebrated at work with our colleagues, or even with our family and neighbours! ... Let's Celebrate our Strengths!!!!

Sometimes we get so caught up in our activities that we forget to just stop and celebrate. What better way to do that than through this day!

Dear Autry,

Welcome to the CAD group! Hope you can facilitate it with the indigenous community next week. Please refer to the toolkit in the group. Look forward to the stories, self assessment, action plans and photographs. Good luck!

UNFPA-State of the World's Population 2005
Increasingly the FACE of HIV/AIDS is a Woman's FACE! Women have greater susceptibility than men to infection due to social, cultural, and physiological reasons and are now being infected at a higher rate then men! Though the epidemic initially affected "MOSTLY MEN", today approximately half of the 40 million people living with HIV are Women! This is a very "Sobering" Statement!

On the 1st December, 2010, the World will observe 'World AIDS Day'! The "Feminization" of HIV is of great concern to I as a "Commissioner" on the "Women and Gender Equality Commission"! I will be seeking to promote the use of the 'female' condom as a tool to 'Empower women' in the 'negotiation' of coitus/sex!!!!!

Thank you very much Rituu for initiating this group as well as for helping me to join. I was completely lost. I'll follow your concept note and come with my contribution later on.

May I say to all of you in the group - lets share and best regards

This is a step forward in our struggle to reach the masses; our colleagues at the grass roots where issues begin and end.
