Hi Friends,

Hope you are having a nice weekend.

I came across a video on Shared value which I thought might interest you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjYY3gc9_gE

The video contains highlights from Professor Michael E. Porter's keynote at the 2012 Shared Value Leadership Summit on May 31st.

Professor Michael talks about the emerging trend in today's world of incorporating social dimension in strategy. Going beyond the traditional CSR approach in business sector, he discusses the focus on addressing societal issues with a business model. Look forward to hearing your insights.

It was so exciting using the Ai Summit method to help design this important organization, and alliance of peace academies around the world. Beyond our military academies, the peace research field is growing and is asserting that the study of peace is much more than simply the absence of war. What's interesting to me is the new data looking at business as a force for peace, and the economic logic of peace. Its a good time to support organizations such as this one.  Click here

The last 3 weeks a team of 6 people from around the world has been following the CLCP in order to come up with a Business Offering. It's exciting to be part of this as it really works. We're now in Action Planning. If you're interested in either just getting information on this or being a part of bringing the business offering to businesses just let me know. For everyone interested just visit this place once in a while as I will be posting updates. Enjoy the weekend! Boris

Hey everyone!

We're really getting momentum now with the business proposition as well in Asia/Singapore as in Europe/Amsterdam. We are working in a small team to create a proposition based on SALT visits. We have some exiting new support from Rebecca and Joel Gordon, who have been driving this idea forward.

We're taking one step back at this moment to enter the CLCP together. When you want to join the team in dreaming you can either give your input here or send it to me. Also if you want to join the small team that is building the proposition please let me know.

I will post new drafts here on Ning for your feedback and keep you informed on the various steps we take.

Keep in touch!

Much Love in 2012

Boris

California Businesses Embrace New Benefit Corporation Law

Ventura, Calif.–based Patagonia was the first of 12 companies to register for the state’s new “benefit corporation” status on Jan. 3. Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard led a group of businesses to apply the first day the legislation came into effect.
“We need a better way to do business,” Jay Coen Gilbert, co-founder of B Lab, said. “Benefit corporation legislation gives businesses the freedom and the legal protection to make decisions that create value for society, not just shareholders. That’s important for workers, for communities and for the environment. Success in the future will be defined by those companies that create high-quality jobs and improve the quality of life in communities and for future generations. Benefit corporation legislation makes this possible.”
