NewStories, a 501c3 nonprofit corporation based in Spokane, WA is looking for a new contract staff person based anywhere. We need someone new on our team who can take direction as well as take initiative to help us increase our capacity to do our work in the world. We want someone who feels an immediate, strong resonance with our values, principles and beliefs–check out our website–and who can help us as a researcher, writer, editor as well as taking on a myriad of mundane tasks needed in the keep us going.
Our work at NewStories is to inspire, inform and invite the action needed to create healthy and resilient lives and communities in this time of tumultuous change. We service as a base for a number of projectson the leading edge of change. We provide convening and consulting services to those inviting change in their organizations and communities. We curate knowledge to help us all find our way forward. And, we are evolving a core initiative–Preparing for the Possible, Before and After DisasterThe Associate position will be paid by a personal services contract for up to 20 hours/week at a rate of $30/hour, paid twice a month via PayPal.
Our new Associate will report directly to Bob Stilger, our President, and will also work closely with Lynnaea Lumbard, our Board Chair.There are three priorities for this position:1.Raise funds for Preparing for the Possible. Research and recommend sources of support, edit existing materials and write new materials for grant applications, track funding progress.
2.Curate Resources.Create new entries for ourEssential Knowledge Selection, working with referrals from NewStories Board, Team and Projects (as well as your own favorites).Interview members of the NewStories community to bring some of this forward. Work with this community to produce blogs in their own names which are then also shared in social media
3.Assist Bob and Lynnaea.Take on a variety of ad hoc and continuing tasks which help us as we do the work of NewStories.We’re looking for someone skilled at research, interviews, writing and editing who is comfortable with a variety of web-based applications and platforms mention in the application.

Under the general guidance of the Lake Chad Youth Engagement & Consultation Advisor, the Youth Engagement and Consultation Officer will ensure that the study findings and strategy on YEC are rolled out in the Lake Chad Programme of the Plan Country Office and link in to the Plan International’s YEC programme activities in the rest of the Lake Chad region.
