Salt has both positive and negative impact. If you apply too much of salt in the food it will be too salty and if you don’t apply salt in your food, the food will be tasteless. Remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, when God wanted to destroy the city, he ask Lot to flee out of the city and not to look back, but the wife disobeyed God and turned to a pillar of SALT (Genesis 19:26).

God bless the obedient and punish whoever disobeyed him. Likewise, when using Salt

(Matthew 5:13). We are like SALT for the whole human race.

Look at a man who stands on a hill and the people are dying of flood, but cannot guide others on how to get to the top of the hill and the people below end up perishing; God is going to hold the man accountable.

Why do we use SALT? SALT as been an effective way of reaching out to people, we share our ideas with people, we support people with our experience, we appreciate the strength in others, learn from others and also transfer ideas to the people.

We cannot stay in a building and integrate ourselves into a large community. This can only be achieved when we apply the SALT concept. Sometime community see there self as being empty (lack strength), but when communities are being stimulated, using the community counseling cycle (CCC) and building their competency around HIV/AIDS process will lead to behavioral change. Why do we go out?

SALT became synonymous for a power for good hence the disciples could be called ‘salt of the earth’. (Mark 9:50) says, have the SALT of friendship among yourselves, and live in peace with one another. The experience we have needs to affect others positively, through the family reconciliation since we are ambassadors of Christ.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with SALT, that he may know how ye ought to answer every man (Colossians 4:6)

HIV/AIDS is a global issue, its affect young and old, poor and rich, and everybody hates this virus called AIDS:

H-Hope

A-Advocacy

T-Testing

E-Eradication

As the SALT of the world, we are to share hope with people, because we are being “save to serve others” The Salvation Army Slogan. We are to advocate for change, such as stimulating people towards behavioral change, create HIV/AIDS awareness and sensitization in communities.

For community to own this vision, it is good for to use the ABc strategy; which are total Abstinence among young people, be faithfulness among married couples and a small c which is use condom, for people who can’t abstained.
