BRO and Pocket of Stories from NE India, Nagaland CLCP KNOWLEDGE FAIR 10-12 November 2010

It was such a motivation once again when we saw that people have the capacity to change and the community with every individual have the strength.

Going to the Village for SALT visit by VAN besides me sat a great Mischief Dr.Rafique, along the National Highway he share me a story about the Milestone written BRO Drive Slow reach Safely, BRO Better Late than Never, BRO Don,t Drink while Driving, and he wonder why the people here are so polite calling everyone BRO on the Board besides the Milestone, but at the end before reaching the town he saw the abreviation BRO=Border Roads Organization. He was already motivated with the word BRO and the impression he have on the people was already good.

We reached the Village and they pointed at us a smart aged man they called him Uncle ACP (AIDS Competence Process) His Name is Uncle Haolai. Every time he stands up he take out his hand from his pocket a story comes out from his pocket said Dr.Rafique. Uncle ACP is the man who facilitate the villages of the area on the CLCP process he shared us unlimited innitiative of stories from his pocket about the community respond there.

I happen to sit with two young girl, far behind me sat my old friend SANA, after we had an experienced sharing session he called me James Bond even before he use to called me the same. Now he called me CLCP James Bond. One new thing is that Everyone got their names in this KF. Dr.Rafique called Rituu is like GOD I called her GOD as she cares for everyone and available anytime anywhere with what we do, we dont she her eat or drink.

So we find lots of new things new motivation and new eperience that we keep it to share where we will be moving on.

A young girl whom I sat with share on her experienced how she got involved with CLCP and how it changed her life and she tells that she wants to keep on telling others is that. His uncle (Brother of her father) was detected HIV positive she do not know what to do, with the Stigma and Discrimination prevailing in the community, that makes her to Join the Volunteer team looking for the way how she could make inclusion of her uncle in the community, after sometime she manage to convince her uncle in the team which he was a very active and effective member before he died.

The stories shows me how young people have the capacity and strength in the community to cahnge people both the victims and the community.

It freshens my outlook on CLCP I learn more a lot about the unlimited way the CLCP have to respond the changing isuue of the community.

Dear Joma,

You have a knack of adding the fun element in everything from skype meetings, face to face meetings and even in your write ups. Your ability to make others laugh is better than any energiser!

Yes, it was wonderful to see the involvement of youth in the village volunteer teams and they can indeed play a great role in stimulating community response. The need for youth clubs in villages came not only from the youth themselves but also from the village elders. People working in the development sector in India are trying to mobilise youth and for CLCP it is a byproduct.

Kake Pahe, Joma. Thanks for all you do for CLCP.

Warm regards,

Rituu

Kudos! Joma, I am sure everyone will enjoy your blog and have a good laugh :-) You deserve lot of claps. So, let us put our hands together for the role play you did, which is so effective for ACP. Well done.

Finally, we are supposed to enjoy ourselves too. Keep this talent up.
