Another story of an appreciation.

Since mid-May 2012, I was more in Sekadau. It’s about 7 hours trip by car from Pontianak, my hometown.

Last year, I chatted with a Pak Rasyid, 56 yo. He was an officer at the district Bappeda (Development Planning Board Office). At December Pak Rasyid was retired, so at 2-3 months before December, he was more often doing business at home that has been lived since 20 years ago. He and his wife are a wedding organizer. He had a warm personality; I used to talk and chit-chat with…

The little effects of sharing

Hi all,

Last month, Pontianak Salt Team visited Singkawang Salt Team. Singkawang took 3 hours trip by car from Pontianak. We are about 15 peoples in 2 cars.

The meeting started by having lunch together in the atmosphere of familiness. After lunch we shared each other. We shared about our family and also work, particularly experiences from the field. There were 2 new boys, youth, from KPA Pontianak who were very enthusiastic to be involved in this even. They are new…

second chance for fixing

We were at Manonjaya, West Java last week, together with JL, Rebeka, Lulu, Mustain (friend from Singkawang, West Kalimantan) and I. Jl has shared about this subdistrict and how beautiful a view at the side along the way.

At the second day, I facilitated the session of reflection. I proposed the question for all of us: when you woke up this morning, what did you think of? Well, this was actually an easy question. So I just said this question to audience. Some of participants gave an… Continue

Learning event at Papua, Indonesia was learning event for us as facilitators

1. What went well?

 When we went for SALT visit at the first workshop, one group visited the same community twice was really useful. The first visit is more for building a relationship and trust. But at the second one (because of the successful of the first visit) is more to the advanced process; facilitated community we visited to build their own dream and how to reach them. This is like a ‘process with a follow up’.

 When we facilitated this learning event, we – as facilitators –… Continue

chance for learning

This is my true testimony:...;-))

I was a little bit ‘shocked’ when I found on schedule paper that I was one of the facilitator for tomorrow (Tuesday, after lunch session) together with Gaston. Yes I saw the schedule, but truly I never saw the facilitator list. Yes I used to be a facilitator on some workshop, training and also ACP in Indonesia. But,…. This is international level. This is the first time for me. I really know and realize very much about the lack of my English. I was… Continue

Chiang Mai - 1st day

Just like usual, the meeting was starting by explored hopes, concern and expectations. Mine are:

Hope:

 Always has a chance to learn, it’s personal. I believed that learning is a must in our whole life. And it fits with SALT. Learn has an important place in the SALT Process.

 Community recognized their strengths and confident to use those. This is my hope to communities I will visited later on. I believed every community has strength. They just did not realize. And then… Continue
