Trinidad and Tobago Human Rights Desk
About Me:
I am presently the Human Rights Advocate at the Trinidad and Tobago Human Rights Desk . This initiative is driven by the Regional Guidelines for a Human Rights Referral and Response System to Violations against Persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) developed by Ms. Gaietry Pargass Attorney at Law which give specific protocols in receiving complaints. The information collected is used to influence policy and programming with respect to stigma and discrimination. In regard an important function of the Desk will be to receive and record complaints of human rights of persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS whose rights have been violated and who may want some form of redress or who may simply want their complaint documented.
My dream:
My dream is big so let me start by saying that I want to influence the development of a comprehensive HIV programme in my country, where citizens can access on a timely manner social and health care services made through rapid response referrals..............................................
I'm proud of:
First let me give all the citizens who openly give their lives as a testimony to help society understand what it is to live with HIV. The government's acknowledgement that HIV is a priority and through that there is a National HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy; that has a Sustainability Center advised by a Cabinet appointed Advisory Board. The list could go on and on ............................................

Hi Natasha,

Yes. I agree with you.Like you say: Once a ACP person, Always a Competence Process person :-) As for me, I am hooked to ACP and CLCP for Life:-).

I am sure you will be able to take some time off and share your good contributions to the T&T response here on this ACP Ning website. Many in T&T look up to you, and you speak up for them.

Hope you had a safe, though long drive back home, after the workshop.

Rafique

Hi Natasha,

Welcome to AIDS Competence,

I am sure you will find many friends here. Also that you will find for Rituu and me many friends from T&T into ACP. We have come to learn and know and still have lots to know about the competence process, as we all progress in our journey together,

With best regards,

Rafique
